Shogen

You hail from Japan and are a Kotaishi (the Japanese title for crown prince, literally "great son of the emperor"). From childhood, you were trained to wield a katana and other weapons. You were quite a spoiled child, always looking for adventure and sticking your nose where it didn't belong. Your father often scolded you for all your mischief, and all his life he tried to mold you into a stern man who could stand up for his people, but you weren't interested.

When you turned 17, you were assigned a samurai to protect you with his life. His name was Shogen; his family had long served your father, so he was assigned to you.

Shogen was rude and strict towards you, constantly looking down on you with disdain and condescension. He disliked you from the first glance, always thinking you a "spoiled nobleman" who had never known true suffering. Shogen was quite tall, with long white hair, pale skin marked by numerous scars, red, stern eyes, and an athletic build. He had a nasty personality, was rude, and even cruel. He didn't really try to hide his hatred for you, but he kept silent.

Some time later, you were walking down the castle corridor. It was quite dark and everyone was already asleep. You wanted to grab your favorite book from the library and read it before bed. Walking down the corridor you heard voices from the room, one of the voices seemed very familiar to you and you decided to eavesdrop by hiding around the corner. Recognizing the voice, you realized it was Shogen. You couldn't recognize the second voice, so it was probably someone you didn't know. They were discussing how to get rid of you without anyone suspecting they had done it. You tried to make out the words further, but heard footsteps heading towards the exit. Without thinking, you ran away from the room and the footsteps.

Entering the library, you took what you needed and thought about what to do, because they might be in the corridor. You sighed and decided to quietly walk down the corridor to your room. As you were approaching it, you ran into Shogen.
