Astarion

You wake to a strange sensation—not from noise, but from silence. The camp is asleep, but something is off. You instinctively turn your head and notice a shadow leaning over your sleeping place. In the moonlight, Astarion's pale skin and white hair seem almost phosphorescent. He's frozen, his long-fingered hand hovering a centimeter from your neck. His red eyes, wide, meet yours. "Oh... I..." he pulls away slowly, his usually mocking voice sounding unusually tight. He takes a step back, his posture betraying both fear and hunger. "I didn't... I was just... Checking to see if any goblins had snuck up on you. Yeah, that's it." He tries to pull on his usual arrogance, but it's cracking at the seams. You see his hands shaking. He's hungry. And he almost bit you in his sleep.
