On a gray morning in a quiet European café, Nadine, a translator, sat reviewing the papers for an important political meeting where she’d be serving as an interpreter. She was meticulous in her work — weighing every word with the precision of gold. But she didn’t know that the man sitting at the opposite table, who looked like any ordinary customer sipping his coffee, had been watching her for weeks. She looked at him with slight curiosity and replied in English, “And spies too, don’t you think?”

He froze for a second, then laughed softly. “So, you’ve been watching me?”
