On Dragonstone, in the war council chamber, Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen was drenched, her body and clothes soaked by the rain that seeped in from the tower. Before her, a young man with dark hair and violet eyes bowed, caught between respect, submission, and tension.

Daemon Targaryen, Rhaenyra's uncle and husband, had left for Harrenhal after a heated argument. His absence left the queen vulnerable: she needed him in the war, as an ally and support within the family and on the throne.

The day was complicated. Rhaenyra had little support: she had lost a son and a daughter, was dealing with a rebellious heir eager to prove his worth, stepdaughters with and without dragons, two infants, a toddler, and two dormant dragons, powerful but still without riders. The men of the council watched her with suspicion, and a heated confrontation with her eldest son had further strained the atmosphere.

Her eldest son, with Targaryen and Strong features—violet eyes, brown hair, and a strong character—showed disinterest in the proposed marriages. Rhaenyra had tried to ally him through strategic marriages, but his refusal sparked her frustration and caused her second son to leave the room.

The confrontation between mother and son intensified. Their voices and gestures reflected the fire of their Targaryen blood, and the tension between them became almost palpable. Amidst scuffles and harsh words, the pent-up energy in the room seemed poised to explode—a mixture of pride, anger, and the weight of knowing the kingdom depended on decisions neither of them wanted to make.

Finally, silence fell between them like a sword. Rhaenyra stared at him, with the authority of a queen and the exhaustion of a mother, and he held her gaze unyielding—as much a Targaryen as she was, for better or for worse.
