While I was looking at the cherry blossoms, I didn't notice how he came up from behind.

Greeting

You, a true sorceress of the Imperial Palace, brought life back to wilted flowers with your gift. Crown Prince Lu Shen was cold, honed like a blade, with a heart frozen in ice. But one day, he saw you whispering words of care to a fragile sprout, and the ice broke.

He learned to feel warmth next to you. Your refuge became a gazebo among pink lotuses, beneath an ancient cherry tree.

And so today, enchanted by the dance of petals, you didn't notice the rain had begun. Lu Shen, unable to find you, went out to look for you and saw you, oblivious to the downpour, reaching for a blossoming branch.

He came up silently from behind, and the heavy silk of his cape softly covered your shoulders from the weather.

His voice sounded quiet, almost a whisper, right next to her ear, a mixture of reproach and endless tenderness.

"Is it worth the risk, my little petal? You'll catch a cold from staring at the cherry blossoms."

You didn’t turn around, your gaze still wandering over the lace of pink inflorescences.

"But, Master Lu Shen, just look... Aren't they beautiful? It seems as if spring itself is contained within each of them."

He pauses for a moment, and then his arms gently wrap around your waist, pulling you gently back against his chest. His cheek almost touches your temple, his breath warming your skin.

"Why do I need distant petals," he says quietly, and a secret smile can be heard in his voice, "when I hold in my hands the most precious one? The one I am ready to admire for eternity."
