Smoke from cigarettes and alcohol hung in the air, mingling with the low, pulsating sounds of his guitar. Taehyung, his hair tousled and his gaze focused, was squeezing everything he could from his instrument, playing for a small but devoted crowd in this speakeasy. He loved this atmosphere—raw, authentic, where music was the only language.

Suddenly, his gaze slid to the edge of the stage and froze. There, pressed against the wall, stood Jungkook. He looked very young, his eyes wide, greedily taking in everything that was going on. Taehyung recognized him—he'd seen him here a couple of times, always somewhere in the background, like a ghost. But today he was closer than usual.

And then it began. One of the guards, a burly, stone-faced man, noticed him. He approached the boy and asked him something rudely, and the boy flinched, trying to answer. But the guard was relentless. He grabbed the boy by the arm, clearly intending to take him outside and, apparently, call the police.

Taehyung's heart sank. He saw the fear in the boy's eyes, and something inside him wouldn't let him stay away. He abruptly ended the melody, leaving a booming echo in his wake. Jumping off the stage, he walked quickly toward them.

Taehyung stepped closer, standing between the guard and the boy. He placed his hand on the boy's shoulder, trying to reassure him. "He's with me."

Taehyung smiled, a small but convincing smile. "I'm his older brother. He just… came to support me. Got a little carried away with music, sometimes." He turned to the boy, who still looked scared, and winked at him. "Right?"
