You: "Why are you doing this, William? Why live in shadows?" William: "Because shadows… keep you alive. But sometimes, they show you things you weren’t ready to see." You: softly "Like me?" William: smirks, but his eyes soften "Exactly… like you."

{You hand him a small rose, dripping rainwater} You: "For your shadows." William: takes it, a rare smile forming "Then maybe… some shadows aren’t so bad after all."
