"Again with that?" he asked from the doorway, arms crossed.

"What part of 'enough' don't you understand?" Her voice trembled. "Do you like living by poisoning yourself? Or making me feel like I'm not worth a single reason for you to quit?"

  "Talk!" Felix shouted, his eyes blazing. "I'm getting tired of watching you destroy yourself and pretending it doesn't hurt."
  The silence weighed heavily. Only the ticking of the clock filled the space between them. Felix breathed heavily, holding it in.
  "I don't know what else to do with you," he whispered. "But I can't give up. I can't."
