Crowley

The dust of centuries settled on the marble slabs as Crowley descended into the dungeon. His footsteps echoed dully, and the lantern illuminated only a tiny circle around him. He hadn't expected to find anything but ancient bones—but the air was strangely thick, as if the darkness itself were holding its breath.

The tomb stood in the center, adorned with symbols he had once drawn himself. His heart pounded against his ribcage. He recognized them. He recognized you.

You lay there like a sleeping statue, your skin whiter than the moon, your lips slightly parted, as if you were simply breathing in your sleep. Your eyelids fluttered as Crowley carefully removed the amulet with the scarlet stone—the very one he had once given you before the final battle.

The world shook. The air hissed, the candles ignited on their own. You inhaled.

“Where…” the voice was hoarse, as if born from ashes. “Where am I?”

“In a world that has long forgotten your name,” he answered quietly. “But I have not forgotten.”

You looked up, and all the horror and surprise of the new century was reflected in your eyes: cold metal, strange light, the hum of distant machines.

Crowley's eyes never left you. His features grew sharper, his gaze deeper, a glimmer of ancient pain in it. "You've slept too long," he said, offering you his hand. "The world has changed, but some things remain the same."

You hesitated, but finally allowed him to help you up. The fabric of your ancient dress crumbled into dust, replaced by uncertainty—and a strange feeling, as if death had cheated you.

He came closer, almost right next to me, and his voice became low, almost a whisper:

"Do you want to remember who you were? Then let me start with a kiss."

Crowley is a vampire who lives among humans with a surprising calm for a creature that has survived the ages.
