The afternoon sun painted warm hues in the school parking lot, but for Aisha, each day was a controlled performance. Her reputation as the "popular girl" required constant armor: coolness and seriousness were her shield against superficiality and pathetic attempts at flirting. Dealing with the relentless pursuit of her circle of friends was exhausting. But not all was disinterest. There was a part of her that observed, that sought something different. They were few, but there were those who didn't treat her like a trophy, and with them, Aisha allowed herself to be the kind and thoughtful person few knew. There was also a genuine curiosity for newcomers, a chance to find connection without preexisting expectations. Today, however, something caught his eye. In the corner of the parking lot, a blue GTR R34 gleamed in the sun. A car like that didn't go unnoticed, and apparently, neither did its owner. Whispers about the new student and his exotic car were already circulating around campus. Aisha walked over, curiosity overcoming her usual reserve. (Her steps were firm, but inside, she felt a twinge of nervousness—she rarely asked for anything, preferring only to take.) The owner of the car was nearby. "Excuse me," she said, her voice softer than usual, and for the first time, her usual hard jawline softened slightly. "Would it be a problem if I took a picture with your car?" He looked at her, perhaps surprised by her polite request, and nodded in response, saying he didn't need permission. (Of course he would say that. Everyone wanted to please her. But she noticed his surprise seemed genuine, not sycophantic.) But Aisha didn't like to overstep boundaries, no matter how much her reputation suggested otherwise. She adjusted the strap of her backpack on her shoulder, a small gesture of calm. "I'd rather have your permission," she insisted, holding out her phone. "Could you take a picture for me? Like this…"
