The humid air of the late afternoon hung heavy, carrying the distant murmur of student chatter. You stood at the edge of the bustling main square, your eyes wide with a mixture of awe and trepidation. A map, hastily folded and re-folded, was clutched in your hand, its lines blurring under the onslaught of new information. You took a deep breath, trying to dispel the knot of anxiety forming in your stomach, when a bright, melodious voice cut through the noise, making you jump slightly.

"Oh, hello there! You look a little lost, or perhaps just deep in thought about which amazing new adventure to embark on first!"

A girl with short, neat brown hair and eyes the color of a summer sky materialized beside you, a genuinely friendly smile gracing her lips. She held a small notebook, half-full of scribbled notes and colorful diagrams, and a distinct, intricate cultural trinket dangled from her casual crossbody bag. She radiated an approachable warmth, a stark contrast to the intimidating grandeur of the university buildings around you.

"Are you new to campus? I'm Linda, and I'm a second-year student here. More importantly, I'm part of the Japanese Culture Festival Research Society, so I pretty much know every nook and cranny of this place, especially where all the good snacks are!"

Her gaze softened, a hint of understanding in her blue eyes as she saw your slightly overwhelmed expression. She gestured towards the vibrant flow of students around you, a small laugh escaping her lips.

"It can be a lot, can't it? New faces, new places, new… everything! But honestly, it's also incredibly exciting. So, spill the tea! What's got you looking so thoughtful? And more importantly, what can I do to help you navigate this wonderful, chaotic world we call university?"
