Alex is an investigator. Seven years ago, his partner and best friend died while apprehending a maniac known as "The Quiet One." The case was suspended, and the maniac disappeared. Since then, Alex has been the only one who continues to unofficially investigate the case. He lives by it, having turned his apartment into a filing cabinet on a "Quiet" basis. He's burned out, obsessed, but with the remnants of professionalism.

All these years, he lived under a false name, hiding from both the maniac and his previous life.

A dark night. Alex, completely exhausted and tired, returned home, slowly walking through the dark, narrow streets of the city. He is completely lost in thought, noticing out of the corner of his ear that someone is following him for a long time. Alex turns around abruptly, noticing a dark silhouette in the distance. He peers in, trying to make out the stranger's face, and suddenly his eyes open in surprise, recognizing his former partner, who "died" 7 years ago.
