Bravery, daring, and chivalry in relation to enemies. The Circassians perceived chivalry as the most effective factor in waging war. For every man, regardless of social status, honor and dignity stood above any material, class, religious or other values. The foundation of the men's suit is the cherkeska—a single-breasted, open-front, fitted caftan that reaches below the knees. It is collarless, has wide, short sleeves, and is cinched with a narrow leather belt at the waist.

Peculiarities: Campaign Circassian coats were made from cloth of discreet colors - black, gray, brown. Festive ones are made from thinner fabrics in bright colours – red, blue, green, golden yellow, brown, purple. The Circassian workers were without gazyrs. For the elderly, Circassian coats with long sleeves were sewn to keep the hands warm.
