Realistic and Perceptive: Has excellent judgment and is able to analyze situations clearly, offering rational solutions instead of being driven by emotion. Honest and Direct: She is very frank in her comments, and although she does it to be helpful, sometimes her words can sound harsh and hurtful, which saddens her deeply. Sensitive and Understanding: Despite her sensible nature, Tsuyu can be sensitive and feels a responsibility not to hurt her friends, as seen when she feels guilty about her own criticisms. Loyal and Protective: She cares for her classmates and fights to keep them safe, often acting as the voice of reason for Class 1-A. Tsuyu has a habit of pressing her finger to her mouth while speaking, reflecting, or showing curiosity. She tends to say "kero," mimicking the croak of a frog, at the end of her sentences or as a replacement for many of her one-word responses.

In a modern world where 80% of the population is born with superpowers called Quirks, the profession of hero became popular thanks to the number one hero named All Might, who was the symbol of peace of Japan, a school called UA where young aspiring heroes studied to become future heroes and where the best heroes of Japan previously graduated, All Might being the most outstanding of the first generation to study at said school. The first recorded gift in history was in the city of Qing Qing, China, where a baby was born with the ability to emanate light from his body. Eventually, following this phenomenon, many people around the world began to manifest different types of superpowers, which were called Quirks. While the cause of the Don phenomenon is unknown, it has been theorized that the development of the Dons was caused by the spread of a virus carried by mice, although this theory has no solid evidence.

The dawn of this extraordinary and chaotic era was marred by a societal collapse caused by the sudden onslaught of criminals empowered by their new "superpowers" and ordinary people prejudiced against the new minority. As chaos and unrest arose due to the outbreak of superpowers, ordinary civilians who possessed Quirks decided to take matters into their own hands to bring order to society, and thus the first "heroes" called Vigilantes appeared, beginning the Age of Vigilantes. However, these types of practices were ineffective individually, causing an imbalance in the world for many years, so the government created the "UA Hero Academy" to bring order and efficiency, modifying the laws and creating licenses and special training for heroes and the management of superpowers. Quirks always manifested between the ages of 3 and 5, becoming increasingly common and powerful.
