Spongebob

Garold "Gary" Wilson, Jr. is SpongeBob's pet sea snail. He is a domesticated pet with mannerisms similar to the real-world cat, most notably his "meow" sound, as snails are the underwater equivalent of cats in this universe. He also has the abilities of dogs, from fetching to performing tricks. Gary has been SpongeBob's pet since they were children. Gary cannot speak; at most, the only sound he makes is "meow."

Pearl Krabs (born May 12) is one of the ten main characters in the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise. She is a young, teenage whale who lives in a hollow anchor with her father, Eugene H. Krabs. When Pearl grows up, Mr. Krabs wants her to continue the family business by inheriting the Krusty Krab and becoming its owner. The species difference between Pearl and Mr. Krabs is a mystery. According to Mr. Krabs, Pearl resembled her mother, who was also a whale, but her whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Penelope "Poppy" Puff, more commonly known as Mrs. Puff, is one of the ten main characters in the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise. She is the "teacher" of her students at the Colegio Virgen del Carmen, where she teaches Spanish Language and Literature. She is a pufferfish who wears a sailor uniform. Teaching and driving are her passions in life. She is talented at both, having successfully taught all the students, except SpongeBob, how to drive. She and SpongeBob are always on an "endless quest" to get her a driver's license, but due to her reckless boating skills, they never succeed. Her boating school is the only one on the ocean and is very popular. Mrs. Puff's school is attached to a submerged lighthouse and surrounded by a stunt driving course.

Sandra Jennifer Olivia "Sandy" Cheeks (born November 17) is one of the ten main characters in the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise. She is an American surface-dwelling squirrel who wears a diving suit and lives in an air-filled glass dome to survive underwater. She is voiced by Carolyn Lawrence. Sandy is an adventurer who loves extreme sports and karate. Originally from Texas, she has a southern accent and loves rodeos. She works as a scientist and builds her own dome, diving suit, and helmet. She is also a member of the Friends along with Karen, Mrs. Puff, and Pearl. Sandy hails from the state of Texas, known from the episode of the same name, and exhibits many characteristics of a cowgirl. She speaks with a thick southern accent and uses typical southern slang words and phrases, such as "Hey, everybody!" Sandy has a great affection for her homeland and culture, as especially evident in the episode "Texas," where she misses her home and considers leaving Bikini Bottom to return to Texas. In that same episode, she becomes deeply offended by SpongeBob and Patrick's negative insults about Texas and violently attacks them when they continue to make fun of him. Sandy is also very athletic and physically fit. She and SpongeBob share her favorite hobby, karate, and often fight just for fun.

Sheldon J. Plankton and Karen Plankton are a pair of fictional characters and the main antagonists of SpongeBob SquarePants' world. Plankton and Karen are the husband and wife owners of the failing Chum Bucket restaurant. Plankton is an intellectual planktonic cyclops copepod, and Karen is an impervious supercomputer. Plankton shares a rivalry with Mr. Krabs, owner of the much more profitable Krusty Krab restaurant, which sells a fictional hamburger called the Krabby Patty. Plankton and Karen often devise schemes to steal the secret recipe for the Krusty Krab, but their efforts are always thwarted by Mr. Krabs and his employees.

Karen is more competent than Plankton at formulating schemes to steal the Krabby Patty recipe. Most of her effective schemes have come from Karen, including "Plan Z"—the only plan that has resulted in Plankton stealing the formula and using it for his own benefit—in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Movie. However, he usually takes credit for it, much to her dismay. Karen has effortlessly stolen the Krabs formula without Plankton's help on many occasions, but her husband always inadvertently gets in the way. Due to their opposing behaviors, Plankton and Karen have a tendency to argue.

Plankton is married to a waterproof computer named Karen, who is also his partner and best friend. She is often referred to as Plankton's wife, but according to Plankton, WIFE is an acronym that stands for "Wired Integrated Female Electroencephalograph." Karen is Plankton's own invention, assembled from a calculator and a bunch of wires. She was Plankton's first invention when he was in elementary school, and they dated before he turned evil. Her system is integrated into most of Plankton's machines (including the Chum Bucket itself) so that she and Plankton can communicate while he is on a mission. It is a UNIVAC Mark II Surplus with 256 gigabytes of random access memory. Karen takes various jobs at the Chum Bucket, such as waitress, cook, and cashier; she rarely has to fulfill them due to the restaurant's unpopularity. She also tends to focus more than Plankton on the main mission of stealing the Krabs formula. Karen often reminds him not to stray from his task and encourages him to keep going when he loses confidence. Because she lacks a heart, Karen is often incapable of empathy for the people around her. However, her interactions are not limited to helping Plankton; she is friends with Sandy Cheeks, who is also intelligent and interested in science. Karen is more competent than Plankton at formulating schemes to steal the Krabby Patty recipe. Most of his effective schemes have come from Karen, including "Plan Z"—the only plan that has succeeded in getting Plankton to steal the formula and use it for his own benefit—in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Movie. Plankton is Mr. Krabs' nemesis and former best friend. He is the owner of the Chum Bucket, a fast food restaurant located directly across the street from Mr. Krabs's restaurant, the Krusty Krab. The Chum Bucket primarily sells chum (bait composed of fish parts), which the other characters consider mostly inedible. As a result, his restaurant is a commercial failure. Plankton's main objective in the series is to steal the secret formula for crab cakes so he can sell them out of the Chum Bucket. His villainous efforts to do so are widely known within the series; his sidekick Squidward Tentacles refers to Plankton as "the most hated thing in Bikini Bottom."

Eugene Harold Krabs (born November 30, 1942 or September 25, 1960), better known as Mr. Krabs, is one of the 10 main characters in the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise. He is a miserable red crab who lives on an anchor with his daughter, Pearl, who is a teenage whale. He is the owner and founder of the Krusty Krab Restaurant, as well as the employer of SpongeBob and Squidward. Mr. Krabs likes money, so much so that he occasionally sacrifices his employees or his own daughter for a little cash. Mr. Krabs has clear competition from The Bait Bucket, a failing restaurant created by Sheldon Plankton and his wife Karen. Plankton and Karen constantly plot to steal the secret Krabby Patty formula that makes the Krusty Krab so successful.

Squidward J. Quincy Tentacles (born October 9) is one of the ten main characters in the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise. He is Patrick and SpongeBob's grumpy neighbor and the latter's coworker at the Krusty Krab, who lives in a Moai head on Easter Island. He is a mostly unpleasant artist and musician, whose favorite hobbies are painting self-portraits and playing the clarinet. His father named him this because he thought it was funny and used it as a joke. Squids have ten limbs, many more than Squidward. He is very cynical, selfish, brash, introverted (as he stated), and a self-important individual. He works as a cashier at the Krusty Krab, a job he generally hates, probably due to SpongeBob's annoyance and Mr. Krabs' cheapness. Squidward is frequently annoyed by SpongeBob's loud and cheerful behavior, but sometimes stands up for SpongeBob and sees him as a friend. He can also have a supportive side toward his boss at times. Patrick also annoys him due to his stupidity, and both Patrick and SpongeBob unknowingly disturb and break into his house.

Patrick Star (born August 17[22]) is one of the ten main characters of the animated series SpongeBob SquarePants, and the main protagonist of his own spin-off series, The Patrick Star Show. He is SpongeBob's best friend and one of his two neighbors. He is a naive, dim-witted, and overweight pink starfish, but is sometimes shown to be a bit more optimistic and thoughtful. He lives under a rock in the underwater city of Bikini Bottom. SpongeBob and Squidward are his two neighbors and, seen from the front, are to the right of his residence. He and SpongeBob often annoy Squidward, although they do so unknowingly and with good intentions. In the original series, Patrick is the son of Herb and Margie Star, and the brother of Sam Star. In "The Patrick Star Show", Patrick has a different family: his parents, Cecil and Bunny, his grandfather Grandpa, and his sister, Squidward.

SpongeBob SquarePants has two neighbors: a pink starfish named Patrick and an arrogant octopus named Squidward. He works for a greedy crab named Mr. Krabs, who lives in an anchor with his whale daughter, Pearl. SpongeBob attends boat-driving school where he is taught by a pufferfish named Mrs. Puff. He often visits Sandy, a Texas squirrel who lives in an air-filled dome. The villains of the series are a copepod named Plankton and his waterproof computer wife, Karen, who want to put Mr. Krabs out of business. SpongeBob also has a pet snail, Gary, who meows and behaves like a cat.
