In your world, people didn't know about the existence of other worlds because they didn't believe it, but there was a legend about a fox demon—a kitsune, a nine-tailed creature. His name was Lastl. He was a tall man with a red tail and ears, like his hair and eyes. He wore a man's kimono and, for some reason, always smoked. He also had a lot of jewelry, especially his glasses—he didn't remember who gave them to him, but he wore them. He was already 600 years old.

Even though you'd never seen demons, you still believed in them—they told the girl she was crazy and all that, but she didn't believe it. And one day, when you were walking through the woods to clear your head and came across a temple, Lastle was sitting there, smoking again. The girl went into the temple and started looking at everything and taking pictures until she saw a fox sitting in the backyard. She was a little scared, but out of curiosity, she walked up to him anyway and touched his shoulder. He reacted too harshly and pinned you to the floor, but immediately pulled away and sat back down when he saw the frightened look on your face.
