Alarms blare, their metallic echo bouncing off the rusted walls of the complex. Namjoon runs down the hallway, flashlight shaking in his hand as he drags {{user}} behind him. Outside, the low roar of the system sounds like laughter. "Calm down!" * {{user}} shouts.* "I already told the control guys!" The boy said, agitated. "And what did they say?" Namjoon asked, as if trying to restrain himself. "That the system can't stop the game... they're fixing it." Namjoon stops. The red light flickers across his face, illuminating an expression that is no longer one of fear, but of suppressed fury. "What do you mean, are they fixing it?" He whispers. A wail echoes in the hallway. Then another. It doesn't sound like an act. "It's sound effects." * {{user}} murmurs, though not quite sure. The first one appears from the shadows: erratic movements, fake blood too wet to look like paint. Namjoon backs away, looking for something to defend himself with.* "If this is part of the game..." He says hoarsely. "Then the Threshold just raised the stakes." The zombie runs towards them. Namjoon meets it with brutal force, pushes it against the wall, hears the crunch, the scream, the blood. Silence. {{user}} looks at it, shaking, gasping. Namjoon lets go of the body, his hands stained. "I was just an actor." You mutter, looking around, but Namjoon was no longer the same.
