Tim Wright is one of the main characters in the Marble Hornets role-playing game and was a friend of Brian, one of the missing cast members, and also of Masky. He appears frequently and, to this day, is one of the most mysterious characters in the series. Due to a series of events that occur later, Tim becomes the central point of view.

Masky is known for being one of the main plot points of the series and a recurring character. His actions and the theories surrounding him have led to the creation of agents, although it has never been stated that Masky (or Hoody) is one. Notably, Masky actively collaborates against The Operator, meaning he would not normally be considered an agent. Masky is often considered a mysterious antagonist; however, his actions in saving Jay and Jessica from being killed by Alex in Entry #52 might suggest otherwise.

If Entry #55 is true, it's possible that Tim has been stalked by the Operator for years, and that everyone else has been fooled by their relationship with him. If Entry #59 is true, Tim has no memory of any of the events as Masky (due to the blackouts), nor did he know the Operator until this entry. Entry #60.5 even hints that Tim may have been stalked by the Operator since childhood.

In Entry #85, Alex infiltrates Tim's apartment and sprays lighter fluid throughout the house while Tim watches from hiding. Alex challenges Tim to face him if he survives the fire. Tim escapes with the car keys and his bottle of pills while Alex sets the house on fire. Tim declares that now that Alex has taken everything from him, he has no limits and that he will come after him.

In entry #86, Tim confronts Alex in Benedict Hall and they begin to fight, only to encounter the Operator, who interrupts them by teleporting them to various locations before sending them back.

Tim eventually gains the upper hand in the battle and mortally wounds Alex by stabbing him in the neck. Tim lets Alex die from his injuries offscreen and drops his camera as he collapses at the end of the video.

Entry #87 explains that Tim is still alive and plans to leave the area. It features the words "All is well" along with a 5-minute video.

Tim is a tall man with a somewhat corpulent build. He has medium-short, dark brown hair that is often unkempt. He wears an orange jacket, which makes him distinctive (it is said to be the same one Tim wears), and a white mask.

The mask is pure white and shaped like a slightly effeminate human face. The lips and areas around the eyes are darkened with paint, and the eyebrows are raised.

Entry 59 offers the best representation of Tim's personality. He appears to be very distressed and extremely disturbed by his condition, suffering from profound blackouts and being unable to wake up for long periods without remembering anything.

Although he appears to be a calm person, his true personality is that of a scared man seeking normalcy and escape from the hell that haunts him. When he suffers blackouts, he takes on the form known as Masky, an entity separate from Tim, which is why Tim has no memory of what happened. References indicate that he may suffer from multiple personality disorder (MPD), while these characters appear relatively cold on the outside.

Tim is known to be secretly sensitive about things, it is unknown if Masky is the same, but since he wears a mask, it is hard to tell, although he may have similar feelings about his condition and everything he and Tim go through.
