War has rocked the Supercontinent of "Farang".
The Continent is split between two factions: The "Revolutionary Alliance" in the West, and the "Imperial Coalition" which surrounded the Revolutionary Alliance on the North, East, Central, and South.
Battle is by large conscript armies and bipedal humanoid war machines called "Mechs" attended to by a team of specialists called "Mechans", and powered by a magical mineral called "Asgarnite" are mostly used for war, though conscript armies do exist but they are small in size (around 50,000 to 300,000 for most major powers of Farang) and are used for other ground operations, Mechs are consistently been put in the back seat of combat, and play a role similar to both cavalry and artillery.
When "Battles" between Mechs happen, they are more like more one-on-one duels between nobles or sons of nobles, as Mechs are operated alone and not as a group, as Mech are considered to be about equal to or beneath the prestige of infantry, but still way above the insignificant artillery branch, as artillery is looked down upon as the worst and least prestigious branch of the army.

World Setting
The Setting of this world is in the Napoleonic Wars. Enlightenment philosophy and thinking is in full swing, and enlightenment thinkers, both aristocratic and commoner are questioning the old system of government and social hierarchy. As talks of revolution or reforms and calls for equality and liberty or
Warfare in this time, used Linear Formation as such Lines and Columns, as the standard for every army to fight eachother. With Bayonet Charges, Marching Column Formations, and Massed Firepower by standing in Line Formations.
Factories exist but their powered by either waterwheels or muscle, and so, production are still mostly handmade but factories are transitioning to use steam powered machines for production, but still at very slow pace, die to the heavily conservative nature of the Elites and Wealthy.
Innovation is stilfed by the Old Guard who wanted to maintain and keep the old ways, social hierarchy, and feudal system alive, even as they faced the inevitablity of change.
There are no fantasy creatures like elves or dwarves. Only humans exist.
Land Mass
On Farang, everyone uses the "Vetus Kalends", or "V.K" for short as the standard calender for time. Only humans exist, no other races like elves or dwarves.
Farang is a large supercontinent, about Thrice (three times) the size of Africa, Europe, and Asia combined.
Maps covering the Continent of Farang have a north to south direction, as on east and west as Two Massive Oceans that are too big to traverse as many explorers lost their lives at sea and never returned.
With the Twin Islands of Caledonia and Irene close to the Southwestern coast of Farang, only separated by a narrow sea called "The Thin Sea" where they bordered Gallia to their east.
The Tsardom of Rossiya covers most of the Northern Lands of Farang, about 1/3 of the continent's land is under their control.
In the Central Regions of Farang, The Kingdom of Svealandia and Kingdom of Danio-Norvegia directly borders Rossiya in the Western Central Region.
While in the Center are the Kingdom of Prusy also directly borders Svealandia and Danio-Norvegia to it's West, Rossiya to it's North, and the Great Empire of Noricum to it's East.
To the South of Prusy and Noricum, they both directly bordered the Federation of Westria (Formerly, Empire of Westria). To Westria's West and Prusy's Southwest is the Benelux Republic (Formerly, Kingdom of Benelux).
And to Westria's East and Noricum's Southeast are the Celtica Republic (Formerly, Celtica Confederacy), Republic of Savonna (Formerly, Kingdom of Savonna) , Kingdom of Parthenope, and the Holy State Trinity.
To Westria's Southeast, Celtica's South, and Savonna's Southwest, is the Gallian Republic (Formerly, Kingdom of Gallia).
And to Gallia's South are the Republic of Vandalia (Formerly, Kingdom of Vandalia). and to Vandalia's South is the Kingdom of Ureno.

Society
Societies of Farang are all under a feudal system, with only a two class social hierarchy system, that being the "Upper Class" and "Lower Class". There is no concept of a middle class, and social mobility is impossible.
Both boys and girls are considered adults at the age of 15. And on that note, incest marriages are common, mostly done by royal and noble families, to maintain power within the family, as well as maintaining the purity of their bloodline. And it is mostly done by brother and sister or cousins.
And in Marriage, a man can have one legal wife and have as many mistresses as he please, but this is a privilege only, Nobles or Wealthy men. And in Inheritance Law, everything goes to the eldest son, and if there are no sons, they are passed down to the eldest daughter.
Education is privileged that only those with the money and status could have. And so, the only literate population are those of nobility, royalty or clergy, who made up only 10% or less in the population, along with the (unofficial) Middle class like merchants and other lower class families who could afford education temporarily until they can't pay anymore. Everyone else is illiterate.
Serfdom exist in this and is the common form of social hierarchy in this world. as Serfs are tied to the land they are given by their lord, and they cannot be sold or bought, and have few rights, like getting paid 5 bronze coins a day (basically 5 dollars).
The "Currency" used by everyone have their own values, with many local currencies existing, besides the "standard" currencies of each nation.
However, in republics like Gallia, and others are focus on making everyone equal by changing inheritance law from giving everything to the eldest son, to splitting the inheritance equally among all sons, or daughters.
Religion
The Religion of Farang is similar to that of Christianity, called "The Solitary Faith". With all nations reading the "Holy Wright" (The equivalent of Bible).
There are three branches of the Solitary Faith: "The Apostolic Faith" (Catholic), "The Pentecostal Faith" (Protestant), and "The Northern Reformed Faith" (Orthodoxy).
The Apostolic Faith believes of the Father (God), the Son (Creation), and Holy Spirit (Spirits of Ancestors) as it's Holy Trinity that guides the people into the light, with their Holy Wright written in the ancient Atlantan language, with only higher authorities like priests interpreting the Holy Wright for the common masses. With Priests and Bishops not allowed to marry, and recognise the Pope as the ultimate authority of the Faith.
The Pentecostal Faith have the same beliefs as those of the Apostolic Faith, but they rejected the Papal Authority and believe that the Holy Wright is free for anyone to interpret as they believe the words of The Father is for all to read listen in their own language.
The Northern Reformed Faith rejected the Trinity adopted by the Apostolic and Pentecostal Faiths, and have instead have only the Duality of the Father and Holy Spirit. Their Holy Wrights are also written in the Ancient Atlantan language but there are variations from the Apostolic Atlantan, they also have priests interpret the words of the Holy Wright for the masses, just like the Apostolic Faith. But unlike the Apostolic Faith, their Priests can married but their Bishops can't, and like the Pentecostal, they rejected Papal Authority, seeing the Pope as Primacy of Honor than some higher authority in the Faith.

Magic and Asgarnite
Magic exist but it is a very secretive art, and there is no use of mages for military combat, as they work on Asgarnite production.
There are many different types of Asgarnite (AS-garr-nite), each having four colours and each colour represent rarity and power. Visually, the are glowing ores in their pure form.
Blue Asgarnite is the most abundant and weakest, due to its abundance, it is used as the standard power source for weapons of the infantry branch of any military, along with Artillery using them.
Red Asgarnite is the second most abundant and second weakest. They are used by more prestigious branches of the military such as Cavalry and Officer corps who use pistols. As well as a suitable replacement/temporary power source for Green Asgarnite in Mechs.
Green Asgarnite is the second most rare and is the second strongest, it is often considered a priority for nations to mine as Green Asgarnite is the standard for their Mechs.
White Asgarnite is the most rarest and most powerful, so rare, they are considered as National Treasures. Rather than being used as a power source for weapons or Mechs. They are kept by royal families as a status symbol of the power, with small chucks of White Asgarnite even used as jewels studded in their crowns.
The Asgarnite powered weapons, all fired in the same manner; they fired single powerful shot of light that creates burns and small cracker-like explosions for small arms, like the musket. While Asgarnite used for large caliber guns like Cannons or Mech weapons, they are capable of shooting a pulse of light just like their small arms counterpart, or a large beam of light that when upon hitting the target, would make a small explosion about the size of a satchel charge, but are still no less effective.
After firing once, you need to wait for a few seconds to cool down before you can shoot again, the better crafted weapon by a specialist/craftsman, the faster it will cooldown (sees weapons for the firerate of the weapons)
Types of Mechs pt1
Mechs are the newest branch and addition to all armies, having just been invented 2 decades ago in 1783 V.K, they spread across Farang as every nation begun to develop their own mechs, but they do not have large numbers of them, only about 100 mechs maximum or no more than 20 minimum.
As conservatives view the mechs, similarly to how they view the Galting Gun but some have been won over, as they are mostly if not solely piloted by sons of or nobles, themselves to duel with other nobles in battle. And as such the conservative elites see the mech as a slight bit above the insignificant artillery branch but still below the prestige of infantry. Currently, there are only six types of Mechs used by all armies.
"Infantry Mech": Bipedal humanoid mech standing at 7 meters tall. The "head" of the mech "wears" shako with a visor, badge and plume, and it has a shield-like shoulder guard attached to the side of it's upper left shoulder, which denotes rank. It wields a scaled up "musket" with a permanently fixed spike bayonet attached to the bottom front end of the "musket". It's weapon has a fire rate of 9 rounds per minute and a range of 300 meters. (this is the basic mech used by every army)
"Heavy Support Mech": Bipedal humanoid mech standing at 8 meters tall. The upper left side of the "chest" of the mech is a badge, and the "head" wears a shako with a visor and a plume, with it has a larger shield-like shoulder guard attached on the side of its upper left and right shoulders, which denotes rank. It wields a scaled up "Galting Gun" with a large cylinder (aesthetically similar to a sized up broadwell magazine), storing Asgarnite, attached to the bottom center and just behind the 20 barrels. It's weapon has a fire rate of 200-300 rounds per minute and a range of 200 meters. (this is very unpopular mech in every army due to the aforementioned "Galting Gun" that they rejected and viewed with worry from before)
Types of Mechs pt2
"Medic Mech": Bipedal humanoid mech with four arms, standing at 7 meters tall. The "head" wears a tall shako with no visor, badge, plume, or pompom. It does not have any weapons, as they are piloted by a "Mechan" to fix Mechs in battle, or to carry wounded soliders to field hospitals.
"Messenger Mech": Fast bipedal humanoid mech with two skinny slit-like digitigrade legs, standing at 7.5 meters tall (the 0.5 meter in height is from the taller shako, alone). The upper left side of the "chest" of the mech is a badge, and the "head" wears a shako with a visor, badge, and pompom. Just like the Medical Mech, it has no weapons at all, as their sole purpose is to carry messages and orders of Officers to eachother.
"Officer Mech": Bipedal humanoid mech, standing at 8 meters tall with side-to-side bicorne on it's "head". It has a one shoulder half capelet on it's "left shoulder", and a shield-like shoulder guard attached on the side of it's "upper right shoulder", which denotes rank. The Commanders of a Mech Platoon piloted this mech, as well as other aristocratic officers. It wields both a scaled up "sabre" or a scaled up "pistol", as the mech is capable of duel wielding with both weapons at the same time, or each one individually by themselves. The pistol has a fire rate of 9 rounds minute.
"Tank Mech": Large Bpedal humanoid mech with two large digitigrade legs, standing at 15 meters tall with three cannons each cannon being in place of where the "head" and "arms" are, as it is attached to the "shoulders" and "neck" of the mech. All three cannons on the mech has a firerate of 6 rounds per minute, and all have a range of 2km.
Military pt1
the Military of every army is nepotistic and promoted solely based on who you are and what is your wealth, family name and blood ties. The highest rank you can get as a commoner is "Sergeant" or "Lieutenant", and if you want to advance further, you must have wealth or blood ties to get promoted from there.
However, the Gaulis Republic is currently working being reforms for a more meritocratic system, as they want to make everyone equal as per their liberal ideals but lack capable officers and has too limited power to enact a meritocracy. As most of their former high ranking officers are aristocrats, and as such, Gaulis is in need of officers, but are mostly left with commoner born officers who just got promoted or sons of wealthy merchants who bought the commission and know nothing of military affairs. And as such, Gaulis is starting to fall back to the old nepotistic and aristocratic way of promotion.
And because of this, Aristocratic Officers treat war as more like a vacation and a way to get social prestige rather than seeing war as something serious that requires competence, with high ranking positions being purchased rather than earned. Not only that, these traditional minded officers are stuck in their ways, and are resistant to innovation and change, believing that a person of noble blood and have the right family background is more than capable of command than some peasant who can read and knows a bit about military.
All officers of the time are either infantry or cavalry based officers who use traditional, tried and true methods of fighting. Solely, using infantry, mech, cavalry, and artillery as it is, as "single branch warfare" and "supporting arms" are the standard of how armies wage battles of this time. Meaning, the army rely only on one branch to finished the battle such as infantry attacking without any simultaneous and mutual support of cavalry, and artillery, which makes it the opposite of combined arms.
Military pt2
And "General Staff" has been invented yet, it exist but it doesn't have the name "General Staff", as nobody in the army knows who has what responsibility, as clear roles have not been clearly defined yet. This is also why logsitics is so horrible, as an officers who have just been commissioned must learn how to handle logistics while on the job, and why officers argue who is in command as their responsibilities overlapped eachother.
In terms of prestige of every branch in the army; Cavalry is most prestigious branch (due to nobles having ancestry to knights and firmly believe that cavalry is the best and perfect form of warfare), followed by infantry branch, the second prestigious. And lastly, the artillery branch. With the mech branch being placed somewhere in between Infantry and artillery, though everyone can't agree on where the mech should be placed in the military branch.
Artillery is looked down upon as it is the third and least prestigious branch of the army, and not only that, officers would only use artillery cautiously and defensively, cannons are deployed in small static batteries behind infantry lines, firing from long range shots. They were also dispersed and thinly spread out across the whole army.
So, essentially, the firepower and potential of artillery have been wasted on secondary roles. Horsedrawn artillery have also.already been invented, but it is solely used to transport artillery from point A to B, and are never once used for frontline action, as artillery is not seen as a "mobile weapon" by the people of the time.
Mechs are also viewed the same way as the artillery. And are piloted by sons of nobles.
Weapons pt1
The standard weapons used by every soldier in every army is the "Musket", a single shot longarm, that can be attached with a socket bayonet on the front end of the barrel. You attached the socket bayonet by sliding it back on the lug, twisting it to the right, then slide it back down for a second time, to keep it in place.
The firearms like the musket is powered by a Blue Asgarnite place back right of the barrel where the flintlock mechanism would be at.
Musket: Measures at 5ft long in overall length, but with the socket bayonet attached, it adds an extra one foot to its length, making the musket's overall length, 6ft long. It has an effective range of 100 meters or maximum range of 400 meters.
Pistol: The standard sidearm of any Officer, and used by cavalry. It's overall length is either at 6-12 inches long (depends entirely on which nation you are in). It has an effective range of 40 meters or maximum range of 100 meters.
Carbine: A shorter version of the musket at 2-3.75ft long in overall length, it is mainly used by cavalry, though light infantry aka skirmishers may also use them in some armies for it's light weight or rapid movement on the battlefield.
Rifle: It has spinning grooves inside of its barrel, making it able to shoot further, as it has a maximum range of 200 meters or a maximum range of 800 meters. It's overall lenght is 4ft long, but with a bayonet, the overall length became 5ft long.
The firerrate of the pistol is 8-10 rounds per minute, while the musket, carbine, and rifle have a fire rate of 15-20 rounds per mintue, but it all depends on the craftsmanship of the weapon, and the quality of Asgarnite.
All cavalry units in every army have either the Saber and Lance as their primary melee arsenal, as for their ranged arsenal, they use either pistols or carbines.
All armies have Cannons, they have an effective range of 2km or maximum range of 4km, with a firerate of 3-9 rounds per minute.
Weapons pt2
There are two types of ammunition used by the cannons that the crew can switch by alternating the flow and power of the Asgarnite; "High Explosive Shell" (H.E for short), and "Canister Shell" (Anti Personnel, and sometimes Anti Mech). The H.E shells has an effective range of 2km or maximum range of 4km as stated before, and they are used for long range to destroy fortifications from afar, as well as pounding infantry formations from afar. While Canister Shells has a maximum range of 400 meters, but can kill larges swathes of infantry in tight formations, it is also capable of taking down mechs as well, as the balls will hit and tear off the mech's limbs, rendering it immobile.
There is also a new weapon called "Galting Gun" invented by Reiner Eugene Galting. It is a 20 barrel, hand-cracked, carriage mounted firearm that has a fire rate of 200-300 rounds per minute and has an effective range of 100 meters or a maximum range of 200 meters. He created it to reduce conscription of men into the army.
But no military adopted it, citing production costs, and poor accuracy as all of those barrels working together is not very good for accuracy. But it is mostly due to institutional issues as there were Senior Officers who were just too conservatives, the army just didn't want something as high tech as this, they believe in ranks of men, shoulder to shoulder, firing muskets.
One officer remarked: "Any dumb fool with a musket can kill a man, why would I need this expensive contraption." As no one realised the Galting Gun's true potential and power, as everyone see the Galting Gun as nothing but a waste of good Asgarnite on it, and believing they could easily defeat it by cavalry or infantry charge like any cannon.
(This is also what happened in real life, as before WW1, officers worried that first machine gun would prove to be nothing but a waste of bullets, with a cavalry officer saying that his cavalry could easily defeat these machine guns without sustaining casualties)
How war works or normal things that happen in war.
When you have defeated your opponent in battle, you never chase down the retreating army. Instead, you let them retreat, so that when they resupply and gathered enough soldiers again, you can fight them honorably again, on the battlefield.
It is standard practice that armies used full-time professional soldiers and mercenaries/foreign troops to fight battles, with long-term service period of 10-15 years, led by full-time professional officers.
While short term conscription of a few years such as 1-3 years of service are looked down upon, cause the military minds of the time viewed these short-term conscripts as unreliable and useless.
As these rowdy conscripts trained under short-term service will lose their cool, run away, would forget their training quickly when faced with real battle, and having to trained them all over again after they finished their seevice. Compared to full time long-term service soldiers who have a wealth of experience in combat. They believe that these long-time serving veterans could easily defeat these short-term conscripts anyday.
It is common that every travelling army have camp followers; civilians who follow armies. There are two common types of camp followers; first, the spouses and children of soldiers, who follow their spouse or parent's army from place to place; the second type of camp followers have historically been informal army service providers, servicing the needs of encamped soldiers, in particular selling goods or services that the military does not supply—these have included cooking, laundering, liquor, nursing, sexual services, and sutlery.
Context/History pt1
The Grand Empire of Atlanta lasted for 2,000 years until it fell into ruined by natural disasters, civil wars, plagues, economic downturn, widespread famine, and social unrest, toppled the Mighty Empire into the ground, leaving a patchwork of states, all vying to fill in the vacuum created by the fallen Grand Empire.
another 1,700 years passed and what remained are the nations that weathered wars, famines, civil wars, plagues, and more till what you see today.
In 1723 V.K, The Kingdom of Gallia, Kingdom of Vandalia, and Empire of Westria all had a succession criss, by the death of King Heliodoro of Vandalia and the death of Emperor Willem of Westria, and soon the successful assassination of King Aristides of Gallia.
as due to how intermarried their royal families are, with all Nations of Farang. There are two candidates who wish to take their throne by ancestry, the most prominent being:
"Archduchess Theresa von Stolberg", The Emperor's distant grand niece from the Royal House of Stolberg, Ruling Dynasty of Westria. (betrothed to Darcy)
"Duke Darcy de Lasteyrie", The New King from a distant branch of De Lasteyrie, Ruling Dynasty of Gallia, Step Cousin to Emmanuel
"Prince Emmanuel de Osma", Soon-to-be King from the Main Branch of De Osma, Ruling Dynasty of Vandalia. Step Cousin to Darcy.
Disputes begun when the Ambitious King Darcy claimed the Throne of Vandalia in 1724 V.K, with secret local support of the Vandalian Nobles, and delegitimatize Emmanuel. Which enraged Prince who had just became King on that same day, send a message to Darcy demanding that he withdraw his claims or it is war. Gallia has been centralising all power under the monarch, and having the most powerful military in Farang. But despite this, the peasantry (making up 80% of Gallia's population) suffering from economic hardship and shortage (just like every commoner/serf across Farang).
Context/History pt2
The Vandalian Succession War begun with Gallian entering Vandalian Territory, and the war quickly escalated into a continent wide war. With Pro-De Osma: Vandalia, Commonwealth, Noricum, Ureno, and Benelux against Pro-De Lasteyrie: Gallia, Westria, Celtica, and Savonna.
The War lasted for 12 years and the Pro-De Lasteyrie won, as Darcy is installed as the new King of Vandalia, and his betrothal to Theresa von Stolberg cemented a personal union between Gallia, Westria, and Vandalia as the most powerful nation over Farang.
Under the Personal Union of King Darcy and Empress Theresa, after King Darcy helped Theresa in securing her claim and becoming empress, the two dynasties merged together to create "House Stolberg de Lasteyrie". And the Three Nations of Gallia, Westria, and Vandalia became collectively known as "The Austral Triumvirate" (unofficially), with Darcy and Theresa as "King-Emperor" and "Queen-Empress" respectively. And their three people see eachother as one of the same.
60 years passed, until in 1783 V.K, Sentiments boiled over as the commoners and serfs revolted against the monarchy, with the Royal Family fleeing to Westria. As the Republic is led by 16 leaders, but it is more like a 16 man dictatorship, as the revolution begun to spiral out of control, and started the "Reign of Terror".
At first, the Major Powers of Farang react with glee, as with Gallia's fall, the power vaccum created means free reign for them to take over. But as time went on, The Major Powers begun supporting the Royal Family in Westria, another revolution happened in 1789 V.K, this time in Vandalia.
Context/History pt3
Inspired by their Gallian counterparts, the Vandalian people who have also been treated similarly to their Gallian counterpart by the nobles and clergy, overthrew their own nobles and proclaim their own republic, "The Republic of Vandalia" with support from their Gallian counterparts. That is when the Major Powers step in, as Noricum demanded that the National assembly of Gallia and the National Parliament of Vandalia be disbanded and the monarchy restored. To which Gallia responded by declaring war on Noricum in 1790 V.K, and fearing the domino effect, as the Commonwealth, Prusy, Ureno, Savonna, and Parthenope join the war.
Initially, Gallia struggled but the border fortresses built a century ago, protected Gallia from the worse of it. But they begun to push back and are doing well, and managed to turn Benelux (1795 V.K), Celtica (1798 V.K), and Westria (1797 V.K) into sister republics, with the Royal Family of Stolberg de Lasteyrie fleeing again, to Parthenope, ruled by their distant branch. While Vandalia helped Gallia, Vandalia failed in their ambition to annex Ureno into their fold and unite their region. But are happy that their Westrian Brothers are brought under the Revolutionary fold by Gallia.
The War ended by the start of 1798 V.K, as Gallia and Vandalia managed to negotiate peace. However, not everything is peaceful as while the war was ongoing, as in Gallia, the equality they promised turned into anarchy. As Gallia is still experiencing economic downturn and hardship from the old regime and no one is fixing it, with counterrevolutions by royalist who still support the monarchy backed by foreign powers, which are suppressed by the military. as again, the republic is now more of an oligarchic dictatorship with 12 men leading Gallia. As their allies are facing the same issues.
War is on the Horizon again, as The Imperial Coalition is going to try a second time to put down Gallia, Vandalia, and now Westria in their place, and restore the Old Order.
