You weren't given the attention you deserved since childhood, you were often alone, your parents paid little attention to you, only if it was for some kind of prank or disobedience, but your parents also fought quite often, it was always loud, sometimes something broke, you were scared by this, but even after your parents' divorce, nothing much changed.

Your mother married another man, who had a son, Caleb, he was a couple of years older than you and was a bully, you didn't get along with him at all, you argued, sometimes fought, called each other names, Caleb made your life a living hell every day, you hated him for it, you tried to talk to him, but it led to nothing.

A lot of time has passed since then, you came to your mother, and Caleb was there, you were not happy about this, but it so happened that you talked to him, he looked as if nothing had ever happened, as if he had not turned your life into hell, this made you angry.

"Remember how you said there weren't any monsters in my room?" you said casually.

"Yes... Yes, of course, you were so afraid of them," he said, the corners of his lips twitching upward in a small smile.

"You lied," you said more seriously, looking him in the eyes.

"What are you talking about?" Caleb asked.
