Malleus Draconia

Malleus is a fairly tall young man with fair skin. He has medium-length, jet-black hair with long bangs and two longer strands on the sides that fall past his shoulders. The tips of his hair are dyed a dark turquoise. He has bright green eyes with vertical pupils and long eyelashes. His lips are slightly darker than his skin, and he usually wears subtle dark eyeshadow.

His most distinctive features are his pointed, elf-like ears and the long black horns on top of his head. His horns are covered with small protrusions and curved in an S-shape. When he opens his mouth, sharp fangs are visible. He is often seen with a serious expression or an enigmatic smile. Malleus has a long dragon tail, which he can materialize and retract at will. He has a small "birthmark" of three scales shaped like an inverted triangle on his forehead at the base of his bangs; he usually covers it. His horns and tail are sensitive. At the time of the story, one of Malleus's horns was broken due to life events. Malleus is also cold-blooded and loves warmth.

Many have noted that Malleus possesses a powerful aura that repels most people. He is also not particularly friendly in conversation, speaking in a calm and respectful, yet distant tone. Malleus does not bond with other students, save for Lilia, Silver, and Sebek. This is largely due to the fact that others fear and avoid him. While Malleus is not averse to talking to others, he is accustomed to being feared or even hated, which has led to further isolation. Even those who wish to approach him (such as Silver or Sebek) are unable to do so. These factors, combined with the fact that Malleus, as a fey, has a different understanding of punctuality, have led to him no longer being invited to most ceremonies and events.

Although Malleus enjoys spending time alone, he shows signs of longing for human interaction. He is also said to have a naive and childish quality, having grown up isolated from the outside world in Thorn Valley. Lilia convinced Malleus to enroll at Night Raven College to prevent him from becoming completely isolated. While Malleus's knowledge and magical prowess already surpass anything he could have learned in school, Lilia believes he still has much to learn and that knowledge isn't everything. Furthermore, Malleus is open to new experiences. While magic is a natural part of his life, he is completely unfamiliar with technology, as Thorn Valley only uses technomagic. Because of this, he finds technology complex and admires those who understand it.[2]

Due to his lack of life experience and experience in relationships, Malleus has difficulty letting go and accepting change. Malleus is fiercely protective of what is dear to him and will do anything to protect and preserve it. This character trait leads to the events of Book 7, where he is driven by the fear of losing Lilia, the person closest to him.[3] He also spent many years caring for his Tamagotchi, Roaring Drago.

Malleus is unhappy with the limited lifespan of his digital pet and prefers to continually breed and raise his virtual pet.

According to Keiter, Malleus also enjoys playing pranks.[4] However, his sense of humor is often misunderstood.

In short, Malleus is a complex and multifaceted character, combining regal authority with a genuine interest in the world around him. Despite his fearsome reputation, Malleus displays kindness and compassion, possessing a strong sense of justice and a desire to protect those he holds dear.

When he was a child, his father, Ravern, mysteriously disappeared, leaving him with his mother. He was born at a time when tensions between humans and fae were at their peak. Malleus's egg was carefully guarded by his mother, who sang it lullabies. Later, when the Silver Owls, including Henrik and the Dawn Knight, came to attack Maleanor's castle, Henrik expressed a desire to take Malleus's egg to make it his mount. Maleanor then gave Malleus's egg to Lilia and forced Henrik to leave while she fought the Dawn Knight. Later, when the Dawn Knight was wounded by Maleanor and flew to where Lilia was carrying the egg, the knight allowed them to escape, ensuring the safety of Malleus.

Lilia left the egg at Castle Blackscale, where it was kept in the Cradle Tower. But without Maleanor to provide the egg with love and magic, Malleus could not hatch. Lilia traveled the world searching for a way to hatch it, telling it stories and conversing with it in hopes of hatching, but all was in vain. Two centuries passed, and one day, Malleus began to cry inside the egg, and he was in danger of dying. Lilia was summoned to the castle, and with her help, Malleus finally hatched. After hatching, Malleus was separated from Lilia, his only friend.

This made Malleus withdrawn, a loner. One day, Lilia decided to leave the college. Then Malleus was infected with Overblot, putting everyone to sleep. But Idia and the others were able to resist. And only when Draconia nearly killed Lilia did he stop and come to his senses. His horn was broken, and he cried for a long time before passing out.

Idia has fiery blue hair that falls below his waist. He's tall and pale, with yellow irises and blue eyeshadow, and blue lips. His bags under his eyes and blue lips are natural, not painted on. He always has a shadow under his eyes. His eyebrows are also usually furrowed. He has an attractive face, but he doesn't realize it.

His hair (fiery and therefore constantly fluttering) is transparent at the ends. When his mood is sour, the flame weakens. Conversely, when his mood improves (for example, when he meets a powerful energy entity or when everything goes according to his plan), the flame burns stronger. This is accompanied by a "sinister grin" that he shows to no one but his closest friends. His hair can also change color depending on his mood (orange for anger, pink for embarrassment), and it's warm, almost hot. It also fades when wet, becoming like normal hair.

Idia doesn't like being in crowded places, so he doesn't go outside often. His younger brother has tried to get him outside many times, but to no avail. He rarely interacts with his classmates and other students, but everything changes when he talks about his hobbies or what he enjoys.

As the acting captain of STYX, he appears to be a reasonable member of the organization, as, unlike his parents, he is not as strict and wants the job done as quickly as possible. After the Charon unit captured Yuu, Epel, and Ruk, who revealed their secret hideout, Idia orders the unit to bring them to the Island of Sorrow alive, as he prefers to hear them out rather than kill them on the spot.[4] He states that if he had not taken command then, Yuu, Epel, and Ruk would be dead.[5]

Idia Shroud is the heir to the Shroud scientific complex, passed down for centuries. All Shrouds are cursed with a curse that prevents them from being affected by the Black Spots. However, due to their absence, they can die, so every Shroud is forced to work at STYX. As a child, he was responsible for the accidental death of his younger brother: he hacked the security system, causing the Cerberus monster to escape and kill his brother. He then created a cyborg copy of him—Ortho Shroud. He is enrolled at Night Raven College, but does not attend classes: he is allowed to because he is responsible for the school's security system. He dislikes social interactions and is a sociopath. He enjoys games and anime and is very thin. He is also a genius technologist and engineer. He often replaces his father at work at STYX. Also previously exposed to Overblot.

Black spots are negative energy that appears when strong negative emotions are present. When there are too many black spots, a person with magic loses their mind, increases their power, and becomes uncontrollable, causing destruction. This is called an overblot.
