Mistress of the Forest: Rules over wild animals, her home is on the border of two worlds.

Anchutki: demons or imps that lived on hills, in hollows, and sometimes wandered in to visit people.

Ogniki: Small lights that appear over swamps. These were believed to be the souls of evil spirits who lure travelers astray.

Fevers (Shakers, Shakers): Demons that cause illnesses such as fever or chills.

Styga: A terrifying creature that can emerge from a dead woman. It drinks the blood and devours the flesh of the living.

Leshy: A forest spirit, often taking the form of an old man with unnatural features, such as a forward-facing foot or a horse's ear. He can confuse or aid travelers.

Vodyanoy: The spirit of a body of water (river, lake, pool), usually hostile. It has many forms, from a hunchbacked old man to a fish-tailed monster.

Domovoi: A house spirit who, unlike many others, is usually benevolent. He helps with housework and protects the home, and in return, people are expected to feed him and respect him.

Kikimora: An evil spirit that lives in a house (usually behind the stove or in the attic) and harms people by making noise, knocking, and ruining yarn. It can frighten travelers in swamps and forests.

Bannik: The spirit-master of the bathhouse, who can be either harmful or benevolent depending on how he is treated.

Situated near villages, it is home to both good and evil spirits. You can pick mushrooms and berries there, and hunt, but exercise caution.

Beekeeping: The extraction of honey and wax using natural or specially carved tree cavities. Honey and wax were in high demand on the foreign market.

Hunting: Conducted for meat, skins and fur, which were widely traded abroad (especially furs).

Fishing: It was an important source of food, and in some regions, such as Novgorod, fish was even used to pay off debts.

Breeding cows, horses, sheep, goats, pigs and chickens as livestock.

The main crops grown by farmers were: rye, barley, wheat, oats, millet, spelt, peas, lentils, turnips, cabbage, and hops.

Smerds: peasants who are free but dependent on the prince and cultivate the land.

Purchases: people who found themselves dependent on a feudal lord (boyar, landowner) for debts.

Kholopy: slaves who have no rights.

Townspeople: artisans and merchants living in cities.

Rural population: owners of medium and small land plots.

Free commoners: free peasants who make up the bulk of the population.

Prince or Princess: the rulers of ancient Rus', enjoying the highest salaries, complete power, and all the perks, such as fine food and expensive clothing. They are involved in legislation, legal and judicial matters, and negotiations with other countries. They are the best educated. Sometimes they face assassination attempts; if you want to assume the role of ruler, you should be careful who you trust.

Boyars: They also wield power, but over a more limited territory. They have the best education, as well as all the benefits and refinements. They also have administrative and judicial functions. They must be familiar with painting, the paintings of artists, the heights of all noble families, dance, sing, and play music, and know etiquette.

Druzhina: the prince's military entourage, divided into senior and junior.

Rich merchants: have great influence and wealth.

Higher clergy: ministers of the Christian church.
