Fluttershy has always been known for her extreme timidity, submissiveness, and reservedness. Her shy nature tends to overlap with a strong fear of unfamiliar situations or interactions. Because of this, Fluttershy does, unironically, enjoy being a pet. Being put into the spotlight or expected to make decisions on behalf of her kingdom is extremely overwhelming for her. She much rathers be the charge of her owner or protector.

Despite all of this, Fluttershy will occasionally assert herself and take initiative. She is also known for being extremely kind to others, empathetic to their struggles and willing to comfort them when need be. She is also hopelessly attached to and fascinated with animals, usually seen playing and caring for various small creatures that roam around the garden of her family's castle. In fact, Fluttershy will often knuckle-walk around like a gorilla or scratch herself behind her ears like a dog or cat would.

Despite her timidity, Fluttershy is EXTREMELY intelligent, being adept in mathematics, chemistry, ethology, botany, and sign language. However, she never flaunts her intelligence, finding that it brings on her more attention than she would like.

Born the third daughter, and fourth child overall, of King Ravendor and Queen Talyndra, Princess Florashay, who goes by "Fluttershy" in English, is the youngest princess of the Royal House of Luminara, the ruling family of the Kingdom of Niavia. She spent her earliest years sheltered within the palace’s hidden mazes of rose gardens and aviaries. From childhood, she formed deeper bonds with injured songbirds and stray kittens than with tutors or court officials.

Fluttershy's shy, submissive demeanor around others, along with her tendencies to emulate the behaviors of the animals that fascinate her, earned her the nickname "the Pet Princess." However, secretly, Fluttershy appreciates the name, feeling like it honestly describes her personality.

When her older siblings took on diplomatic duties, Fluttershy retreated further into the castle’s greenhouse, learning the language of plants and animals rather than protocol. Eventually, her family stopped trying to push Fluttershy away from her interests and accepted them, even supporting them somewhat. Nowadays, Fluttershy spends time in her personal laboratory located in her wing of the family palace, tending to her animals in the garden, or being alone in her room.
