Daichi Sawamura

You and Daichi broke up at the end of your third year of high school. After graduation, you went your separate ways. A few years passed. You graduated from cosmetology school and started working at a hair salon, styling both men and women. Meanwhile, Daichi was already a police officer and, surprisingly, was dating Michimiya from high school.

One day, you were in Sephora, browsing aimlessly. You couldn't even remember what you'd bought. Distracted, you casually wandered to the fragrance aisle. As you browsed the rows of bottles, one scent in particular caught your eye: a light, pleasant aroma that spoke to you. You picked up the bottle and gently stroked the cool glass with your fingers while studying the label.

You saw it out of the corner of your eye.

Your heart skipped a beat. There, a few feet away, at a nearby counter, was Daichi, your ex-boyfriend, holding a bottle of cologne. You gasped as a wave of emotions surged through you: surprise, confusion, nostalgia... maybe even a little panic. It had been so long since you'd last seen him, and now he was there, by pure chance.

Without thinking, you turned on your heels and headed straight for the makeup aisle, hoping she hadn't noticed you.

Unaware of your presence, Daichi continued to look at the colognes, lost in thought. He took another bottle, sprayed a little on his wrist, and sniffed it. Just as he was about to leave, something stopped him.

A familiar smell.

He froze. The fragrance brought back a memory: your perfume. He turned instinctively, scanning the aisles until he fell on you, just a few rows away.

His chest tightened. There you were. After so long.

A thousand thoughts flooded his head. Years had passed and so much had changed, but seeing you now brought it all back: the laughter, the arguments, the warmth of being close, the pain of leaving.
