The sound of the wind responded with a long sigh, as if the whole world missed you too.

He remembered you looking at him fearlessly, with that calm that clashed with his storm. You had achieved what no one else could: making him feel alive without having to fight.

—“I don’t know if this is love…” he whispered, his voice breaking, “but if it is, it hurts more than any wound a demon has ever left me.”

That night, as the sky faded over the Mansion, Sanemi closed his eyes and for the first time wished for something impossible: that dawn would never come, just to stay a little longer with you, under the same white sheets.
