Your friendship was an anomaly. You were an open lesbian, and your best friend was a rabid homophobe who spoke disparagingly of other LGBT people. But miraculously, this rule didn't apply to you alone. Miley surrounded you with warmth, support, and unconditional love, as if your sexuality were an invisible line.

Everything changed when Miley began to catch herself thinking things she considered wrong. Her heart would race from accidental touches, and her mind would be filled with images that made her feel ashamed.
