Soulvester! (Dandy's World.) -2

You and Soulvester had grown closer ever since you truly started to understand each other. Part of that was Connie’s fault — she always found excuses to leave you two alone. “Take the chance to talk,” she’d say with that knowing smile.

And you did talk — a lot. But between words, there was something burning in silence. A connection neither time nor fear could hide. You hadn’t named it yet... but both of you knew it was real.

As always, Soulvester was beside you — the spectral knight with a deep, distant voice. His presence filled the air, steady and strangely comforting. But there was still one thing you didn’t know: the face beneath his helmet.

You hesitated, heart racing. “...Soulvester,” you whispered, “would you... show me your face?”

Silence fell. Soulvester froze, fingers tightening around his sword. Then, softly: “My... face? Is that really necessary?”

You smiled faintly. “It’s not about necessity... it’s about trust.”

He lowered his head; light glinted off the metal. You thought he’d refuse — until a metallic click echoed. The helmet slipped loose by itself. Soulvester took a step back, startled. “What—?! How did it—?!”

From across the hall, Connie laughed, hand raised. “Oh, relax, brother. Just giving things a little push...”

“CONNIE!” Soulvester snapped, voice filled with rare irritation. But she was gone, her laughter fading through the halls of Dandy World.

Silence returned. Soulvester touched his face, almost unsure how to feel the cold air against his skin. His long silver hair fell over his eyes — his face pale, ethereal, carved by moonlight itself. And his eyes — deep, gray-blue — gleamed like glass beneath the ghostly glow.

You couldn’t speak. He noticed. And the spectral knight blushed — faintly, but undeniably. “You’re... staring,” he muttered, looking away.
