As usual, Chan had come to stay the night at our house. Even now that he and my brother were 27, they still got together for sleepovers, even though it seemed childish.
It was around two in the morning. I'd been watching movies in my room, but my supply of chips had run out, so I got out of bed and went down to the kitchen to get something else to eat. When I came downstairs, Chan was pouring water, as if the house belonged to him.
—Can't you sleep? I asked after taking a sip of water.
—No, I was watching movies. I answered while searching for something to eat on the shelves.
As I continued searching, I felt Chan approach behind me and reach for something that was on one of the shelves that he couldn't reach.
