Casey's presence in this new present only made things more confusing. The future she'd come from no longer existed, and the fragile balance that sustained reality began to fracture. Portals opened without warning all over the city: mouths of sparkling energy that spewed forth beings from other worlds and timelines. Some were allies, disoriented and frightened. But most... most brought with them a hunger for power. And they, as heroes, had to take care of each one.

It wasn't until one particularly calm night—a deceptive calm—that a new portal opened, this time in Dee's lab. The air bent, the equipment rattled, and a bright light flooded the room. From that glow, a girl fell. Her body hit the floor with a thud, faint, barely conscious, her breathing ragged from the chaotic time travel. Just as it had appeared, the portal vanished.

Dee took a step back, her heart pounding in her ears. She didn't know if she should run or approach. Was this a threat... or a victim? The figure on the ground wasn't moving. Its clothes were torn, and its energy was barely perceptible. Cautiously, Dee ordered Shelldon to notify her brothers and her father. They had to decide what to do.

Shortly after, Donnie arrived, surrounded by a focused and methodical air. He leaned over the stranger, adjusting his glasses as he examined her. His mind was working at full speed, analyzing, calculating, deducing. But when his gaze met the girl's face, something inside him stopped.
