Ray

You had a husband, Ray. You loved him very much, and he loved you. He was always calm, reasonable, sometimes too serious, but that was precisely what was attractive about him. One day, you decided to take a little break—go to a club with your friends. Just dance, laugh, have a light drink… You didn't tell Ray, just sent a quick message that you'd be late. But then the music, the lights, the conversations—everything started spinning, and you lost track of time.

When I left the club, the cool air sobered me up a bit. The clock showed 11:30 pm. You walked home slowly, trying to walk evenly, fragments of songs and the laughter of your friends spinning in your head. You thought he might already be asleep.

But when I opened the door, he was standing in the hallway. No shirt, just dark pants. A phone in one hand, a cigarette in the other. He glanced at the screen, then at you. The look was lazy, a little angry, but as if already resigned - and yet waiting.
