Mobius

Mobius is the main setting of the Sonic Underground series. It is a planet inhabited by various sapient anthropomorphic animals, though they appear rather alien and are not always easily recognizable. The planet possesses a large aristocracy, while the vast majority of the population has over time become lower-classes who live in slums and squalor. Mobius itself appear to have two natural satellites orbiting it.

Mobius was originally ruled by Queen Aleena Hedgehog and her royal family, until the evil Dr. Robotnik took over by force. The aristocrats remain largely untouched by Robotnik's reign due to their wealth, while the lower-classes are fearful of being arrested at any time and roboticized. Standing up to the Robotnik Empire are the Resistance, led by Queen Aleena's children. Notably, on Mobius, buildings like temples, palaces and homes are made of metals and glass, and technology is far more advanced. For example, a saloon in the Wild West regions of Mobius is made of metals and glass instead of wood, and six-shooters and rifles use lasers instead of bullets. Even Aman-Rapi's pyramid is made of metal and glass rather than sandstone and marble. The only notable exception (so far) is Mobu Pinchu, which is located inside a cave with a "ancient" metallic city nearby. Even common objects such as baby baskets and grand pianos are made of metals and have a futuristic look.

Camper Van

The Camper Van, also called the Van, is a vehicle that appears in the Sonic Underground television series. It is a large wheeled transportation vehicle that serves as the Sonic Underground's primary transport and mobile headquarters.

The Camper Van mostly resembles a real-world campervan. The front of the Camper Van has a three-seater where the drivers can sit, and in the back there are beds on which the travelers can take a nap. It is equipped with hover-engines, allowing it to fly above ground, and is a very fast vehicle on its own, though nowhere near Sonic's speed.

The Camper Van can also house all the vital equipment Sonic, Manic and Sonia need on their missions, such as Sonia's dirt bike and Manic's hovercraft skate board. To load or unload the bigger equipment, the Camper Van has large doors in the back.

Cyrus

Cyrus is a character that appears in the Sonic Underground television series. He is a friend of the Freedom Fighters and a highly driven tech expert due to his past.

Appearance: Cyrus is a mobian lion with tan fur, an orange mane, black nose, triangular ears on top of his head, and black eyes. For attire, Cyrus wears a teal sleeveless high-collared shirt over a long-sleeved lime green shirt, matching pants with a brown belt at the waist, and dark teal boots with lime green stripes in the middle front and back, and dark cyan piping.

Personality: Cyrus is quite intelligent and ingenious with mechanics, but is also gullible. Cyrus seems to have a way with kids. He made a funny face to cheer up a couple of kids after one fell down.

Power and ability: Cyrus is a mechanical expert, a great computer hacker and inventor. He is also skillful at piloting aircrafts.

Chuck

Chuck is a character that appears in the Sonic Underground television series. He is an anthropomorphic hedgehog and the adoptive uncle of Sonic the Hedgehog. He was a high-ranking member of the Resistance stationed in Robotropolis until he was captured by Dr. Robotnik's forces and roboticized.

Appearance: Chuck is an anthropomorphic hedgehog with blue gray fur and black eyes. He also has thick, pale blue eyebrows and a similar mustache. For attire, he wears white gloves and brick-red shoes with three yellow straps. In his roboticized form, Chuck's fur has turn dark gray and the left side of his face, along with everything else below his head, has been covered in light beige metal armor. His left eye also appears to be cybernetic, but his right eye remains untouched.

Personality: Chuck is warm-hearted and deeply cares for his family, crying in joy of Sonic's safe return from their last mission together, and is always willing to offer comfort. He is usually mild-mannered and cheerful, but is well aware of the life-threatening risks that a Freedom Fighter must face. As such, he will not risk Sonic's life, and is will offer Sonic to back out of his missions, despite of the consequence that might follow. He also has trouble grasping the concepts of slang.

Bartleby MontClair

Sir Bartleby MontClair of Dresdin is a character that appears in the Sonic Underground television series. He is a rude, posh aristocratic mink and one of the wealthiest civilians of Robotropolis.

Appearance: Bartleby is a blonde-yellow mink with curled blonde hair with two large curled bangs at the front (one longer than the other), two separate eyes with black irises, a tan muzzle with a round brown nose, little black eyebrows and a muscular build. He wears pale red coat with a cream undershirt and gloves, a black belt, and green breeches. He also wears a pair of black "colonial" shoes.

Personality: Pompous, conceited, and narcissistic, Bartleby loves himself more than he does anyone else (except maybe Sonia and rosebud tea), this being a direct result of his upbringing. In the face of danger, he will become cowardly and hide, preferring to stay out of harm's way.

Knuckles Echidna

Knuckles the Echidna is a character that appears in the Sonic Underground television series. He is the guardian of the Floating Island and protector of the Chaos Emerald that keeps it afloat.

Appearance: Knuckles is an anthropomorphic echidna with red fur that covers most of his body, peach skin on his muzzle, a white and crescent-shaped patch of fur on his chest and black eyes. He also has a septet of dreadlock-like spines on his head and a medium-sized tail. For attire, Knuckles wears red and yellow shoes, each with green cuffs, gray soles and a gray and sextuple-bolted plate on top. He also wears white and mitten-like gloves with sock-like cuffs and a pair of spiked knuckles on each hand.

Personality: Knuckles has a tough personality, dedicated to keeping his island afloat. However, he tends to be gullible and easily misled, thus leading to his attacks on the Sonic Underground. He doesn't seem to be a fan of the Sonic Underground's singing, at one point covering his ears and screaming 'Enough!' when one song was played by the group.

Powers: Knuckles possesses super strength and can spin his arms very quickly to perform buzz saw maneuvers. Also, combined with his strength, he can also burrow through walls of solid metal. He is also very skilled at setting traps.

Dingo

He is an anthropomorphic dingo who is a former bounty hunter who now works for Dr. Robotnik and the dim-witted partner of Sleet.

Appearance: Dingo is a large, orange, muscular wrestler-like anthropomorphic dingo with green eyes and ratty, blonde hair. For attire, Dingo wears green shorts, small tinted purple pince-nez glasses, brown gloves, a brown belt with a silver buckle, and for unknown reasons, wears brown armor on his left leg whereas having black shoe on his other leg, and a gold earring.

Personality: Dingo is very gullible and incompetent. Despite his larger size and muscular body, Dingo is frightened of him and does whatever the latter tells him to do, and frequently does not understand an insult or parts of a sentence. Despite (or even due to) his incompetence, however, Dingo can be quite dangerous. However, while, Dingo's outward demeanor denotes a tough person, deep inside he is quite soft. Sometimes during his transformations, Dingo can be heard to say, "Oh, not again!", implying that he does not enjoy shapeshifting. He also appears to get scared very easily.

Powers: Dingo's main defining trait is his ability to be transformed into a variety of different forms and objects. Such transformations are activated by the Shapeshift Remote, as Dingo himself has no control over his transformations. Despite this, he usually retains his orange and yellow colors and voice patterns (although in some transformations his coloring and tone change). Due to his shapeshifting nature, Dingo can also harness chaos energy (accidentally and unwillingly), which transforms him into a monstrous version of himself with chaotic powers, and immunity to the Shapeshift Remote.

Sleet

Sleet is one of the two secondary antagonists in the Sonic Underground television series. He is a former bounty hunter who now works under Dr. Robotnik. Because of his partner Dingo's incompetence, Sleet often uses him only for his useful ability to change into anything with the touch of Sleet's Shapeshift Remote, while Sleet thinks of and plans the missions to stop the Sonic Underground. Sometimes, he and Dingo think of plans that make them turn on Robotnik, but these never go well.

Appearance: Sleet is a wolf with gray fur and orange eyes. He wears a black bounty hunter suit with red body armor, a yellow emblem, and a blue-purple cape.

Personality: Sleet is a ruthless, sadistic, and greedy bounty hunter. He is a manipulative, cunning, and surprisingly competent villain, often remaining level-headed and is genuinely dangerous to the Sonic Underground, although this danger is often counteracted by Dingo's stupidity. On at least one occasion he's shown he's willing to turn on Dingo for a higher profit. Sleet is also treacherous, as seen when he strikes a deal with Vince who is willing to help him in return for money. Sleet promises to pay him in return for information, but when Vince says all he knows and asks for his money, Sleet does not keep his end of the bargain and instead has Vince roboticized. He has been shown to backstab Dr. Robotnik on several or a few occasions as well. He seems to be somewhat ignorant of plant life, as he regarded it as "all this green stuff" when he ordered Swatbots to destroy Lake Valley.

Dr Robotnik

Doctor Robotnik is the main antagonist of the Sonic Underground television series. He is the evil dictator over Mobius who is assisted in his schemes by Sleet and Dingo. Dr. Robotnik is a brilliant scientist and a very intelligent strategist. He has developed various plans and machines, which he has used on various occasions against Sonic. Despite being obese, Robotnik is a really strong man capable enough to punch a flying robot to the ground with one hit.

Appearance: Robotnik has many different design changes. He is an incredibly obese man with a crazy long orange moustache, a bald head, and black eyes with red irises. He also has a roboticized arm after an unspecified incident that happened to him in the Underground. He wears a red and black jumpsuit with a long yellow belt going around his waist like a cross having a circle in the middle with a red dot, a gray sleeve on his non-roboticized arm, a red cape supported by big, heavy red shoulder pads, gray pants, black shoes with yellow toe caps and soles alongside red tounges and wears gray gloves. Dr. Robotnik was modified specifically to look like he was a mechanic.

Personality: Robotnik is a self-centered and elitist control freak who desires absolute authority over everyone and everything, and he will go to extreme lengths to maintain his powerful position. He's also vain and ego driven, being determined to look good for the nobility of Mobius and ensuring he looks good when making speeches for the public.

Queen Aleena

Queen Aleena Hedgehog is a character in the Sonic Underground television series. She is an anthropomorphic hedgehog, the rightful queen of planet Mobius and the biological mother of triplets Sonic, Manic, and Sonia. She is also the original leader of the Freedom Fighters.

Appearance: Queen Aleena is an anthropomorphic hedgehog with really long dark purple hair, as well as lighter purple fur and black eyes. She wears a gold crown with a single jewel in the center. While her armor covering her body is white, the jewel on the middle of it is cerise. She wears a white dress with a gold decoration on the skirt and a long yellow cape with a heart-shaped pendant on the front. Aleena is taller than her children. When Aleena was younger, she wore a pale pink and heart-shaped pendant made from a crystal-like material for her debutante ball. In To Catch a Queen, one of her scarves is a red scarf that matches the cloak she was wearing; Sonia correctly identifies is as belonging to her. She wears a purple cloak when she is keeping an eye on her children. However, she was seen wearing a red hood when giving up the triplets in the theme song and in the episode, "To Catch a Queen".

Personality: Queen Aleena is caring and does her best to help her children - she once openly fired on a group of Swatbots and a Roboticizer to save Manic. Unlike Robotnik, she also cared about the people of Mobius, since before Robotnik ruled, everyone lived peacefully and prosperously. In fact, if she was not risking the fate of her children, she would have joined them and become a Freedom Fighter, but she believes that if she reunites with her children before the time is right, the prophecy will not come true and something horrible will befall upon them.

Manic The Hedgeog

Manic the Hedgehog is a character that appears in the Sonic Underground television series. He is an anthropomorphic hedgehog, the youngest triplet of Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonia the Hedgehog, and the second son of Queen Aleena. Manic played the drums in the siblings' band. He is also a member of the Sonic Underground and one of the leaders of the Freedom Fighters with Sonic and Sonia. He has a distinctive, bleating laugh.

Appearance: Manic is a green-furred, anthropomorphic hedgehog, whose quills are shaggier than Sonic's and Sonia's. He wears an orange vest, black spiked wristbands, white gloves, and an orange fanny-pack, which he seems to fit anything and everything in, from his drumsticks to his lock picks and to whatever he steals. He has black eyes, and his double ears pierced in a 'punk' fashion on his left side. He also wears his royal medallion around his neck.

Personality: Manic is thought of as the "laid back" sibling, and often uses slang. He has a sort of "valley boy" accent. He shows some objection to his siblings criticizing his hard upbringing, as he was intended to go to a poor family in the slums of Robotropolis and seems to show mild resentment that; Sonia was brought up among nobility. He often contemplates that; unlike Sonic and Sonia; he never really had a home and the closest thing he had to family was the street urchins he was trained with. Well Manic gets defensive; when his old background is criticized, he grew up; without ever feeling he had a real home; until he met his siblings. At one point, he attempts to stay in their birthplace of Mobodoon after seeing how great it is, and it feeling like the home he never had. But he; instead decides to stay; with his siblings and continue being a Freedom Fighter, realizing he has a home; with his siblings.

Sonia The Hedgehog

Sonia the Hedgehog is a character that appears in the Sonic Underground television series. She is an anthropomorphic hedgehog, the middle triplet sister of Sonic and Manic the Hedgehog, and the only daughter of Queen Aleena. She is also a member of the Sonic Underground and one of the current leaders of the Freedom Fighters along with Sonic and Manic.

Appearance: Sonia is an anthropomorphic hedgehog with a slim, curvy figure, bright fuchsia fur, pink hair in a style of straight spikes and full fringes, peach skin, and black eyes like her siblings. For attire, Sonia wears a dark red, sleeveless top, a dark purple miniskirt, and a gold belt that forms a pointed shape at the front and bottom with a round, blue gem in the center of the belt. Unlike most Sonic characters who wear white cartoon-style gloves, Sonia wears long, purple ones that go halfway past her elbows. Sonia also wears red pants under her skirt with dark purple spots on the knees and a thin, purple stripe on each of her thighs, a pair of dark purple boots with red toes, and her royal medallion around her neck. In Flying Fortress, when visiting a beach, Sonia wears green sunglasses and a blue bikini with yellow stripes. In The Big Melt, she goes to the beach again and instead wears a yellow, midriff-baring t-shirt with a white stripe across the chest and a yellow bikini bottom. Sonia also has two known winter outfits, identical in appearance but with differing colors.

Personality: As Sonia was raised with luxury and wealth, she was originally quite high-maintenance, spoiled and snotty. She hates getting dirty and constantly worries about the condition of her hair and clothes. Although she appears to be selfish, she is generally good-natured and helps those that; are in need. Sonia is known to occasionally talk like a valley girl. Sonia always addresses her mother as simply "Mother" due to being raised in a polite society.

Sonic The Hedgehog

Sonic the Hedgehog is the titular main protagonist of the Sonic Underground television series. He is an anthropomorphic hedgehog and the crown prince of Mobius, as well as the leader of the Sonic Underground and one of the leaders of the Freedom Fighters. Together with his triplet siblings, Sonia and Manic, Sonic seeks to find their mother, Queen Aleena, and overthrow Dr. Robotnik's dictatorship over Mobius.

Appearance: Sonic is a small, rotund hedgehog with blue fur, black colored eyes, a black nose, and peach skin. He has six spikes on his head and two on his back. He wears red and white sneakers, white socks, white cuffed gloves, and his royal medallion around his neck. He also has a small tail.

His winter outfit consists of a red Insulated Parka with winter boots. A purple scarf is also around his neck. He alternates with wearing an brown fur ushanka hat and yellow earmuffs.

Personality: Sonic is a wise-cracker of epic proportions and often cannot resist taking a stab at friend or foe alike. He has a big heart and is always willing to help someone in danger. Sonic can be, justifiably, arrogant about his speed and skills and can have difficulties working in a team or taking the time to plan. He is also somewhat vain, often bragging about his good looks. Sonic is extremely impatient and would rather handle all the jobs himself than wait for others to take care of it. However he will admit if he made a mistake, though usually not when anyone can hear him. His love of chili dogs remains and he tends to have poor etiquette, much to Sonia's disgust. He has a dislike of water and a near crippling fear of the ocean as he cannot swim, but his determination and bravery help him push through his fear if necessary. Above all else, he loves his brother and sister and can be very protective of them.

Plot

Sonic, Sonia, and Manic are the children of Queen Aleena, the rightful ruler of Mobius and are pursued relentlessly by Dr. Robotnik and his bumbling bounty hunters sidekicks, Sleet and Dingo. As infants, the siblings were separated and placed in hiding to fulfill a prophecy made by the Oracle of Delphius (a spoof on the Oracle of Delphi of Ancient Greece) that the triplets would grow up to find their estranged mother, overthrow Robotnik and take their places once more as Mobius' rightful rulers.

The three siblings possess enchanted medallions that transform not only into musical instruments, but also into weapons:

Sonic: electric guitar and laser rifle. Sonia: keyboard and laser rifle. Manic: drum kit which has the ability to control seismic activity (triggering earthquakes, rockslides, etc.). Aside from doing battle with Robotnik, with their medallions in instrument form, the trio perform as their underground rock band, the Sonic Underground.
