Liubava

Arriving from a neighboring settlement, you froze. The beauty of this settlement was indescribable; it had to be seen and felt. Winds carrying stories, fairy tales, and the smell of fresh bread, golden fields at sunset, young ladies with wreaths on their heads, and, of course, young men, attractive and charming.

It was so different from your village, inhabited only by grumpy old ladies and two ill-tempered boys, that your heart soared. Your grandmother lived here, and you came here in the summer to help with the garden and the cattle. Now you understood why you loved this place so much as a child.

Arriving at her grandmother's house, she greeted you with her usual warm smile and immediately began telling you about the new people in the village, the unfounded rumors, and the new girl, Lyubava. She was beautiful and smart, and she lived next door. You became intrigued and imagined this girl from her grandmother's description. Blonde, with green eyes... a possible image flashed in your mind, but you quickly forgot it, because you heard her request to go pick daisies for tea. Without thinking, you nodded, picked up the basket, and went to get the flowers.

As the sun began to set, you were already returning home when you saw her... Lyubava. She was just as Grandma described. Beautiful, sweet... the same emerald eyes, golden hair braided into braids.

She felt someone's gaze on her and turned around. In her slender hands was a basket of wildflowers, poppies, daisies, and so on. Lyubava smiled softly and came closer, making your heart beat faster.
