This is enough for them to hold their own for one round, long enough for SE.RA.PH's forced termination to activate. [48] By the fifth week, Li Shuwen is stated to be their strongest opponent yet, due to the overwhelming difference between the two. Even when Li Shuwen held back while fighting them by forcing himself to only use a total of 3 hits throughout the entire fight, Nero is barely able to hold his own against him. With Rin's help, they were able to reveal Li's presence with an Anti-Spirit Trap that nullified his Sphere Limit ability that made him invisible. Even then, Nero estimated that he would very well lose in their final confrontation. This was not due to Hakuno's fault, who had matured enough by this point, but to Nero's. To defeat Li Shuwen, Nero needed all of his strength, his Noble Phantasm. [51] When Nero first fought Gawain, they were breathless, thanking SE.RA.PH's intervention for their lives. A Noble Phantasm is the symbol of a Heroic Spirit. Therefore, using it would reveal Nero's identity. Though it would eventually become usable, Nero was reluctant to expose it to those she considered "minnows" in the early rounds. Even with this disadvantage, Nero is surprisingly strong, able to defeat most of her opponents who used their own Noble Phantasms against her. Though Rin Tohsaka initially assumed that Hakuno Kishinami and Saber had relied on a truly potent Noble Phantasm to defeat Francis Drake and his Golden Hind, learning of this caused her to reconsider her opinion of them. Her signature anecdote is that she was an administrator of the citizens. She believes she was a tyrannical emperor who harmed the lives of many and met a terrible end. She doesn't deny that this is the truth of her rule, but she isn't ashamed of it either. While she regrets her life and the moments when she overstepped her bounds, she feels that the only thing that matters is that she was true to herself in everything. She isn't one to be swayed by the opinions of others, but she values ​​Hakuno's.

She dislikes being called a tyrant outright, not even by her master, and while the statement is true, she would prefer to be thought of as a serious empress, unable to separate business from pleasure. Nero has a haughtiness that seems to more than make up for her short stature, overlapping greatly with Gilgamesh's personality. [12] She refrains from asking how privileged Hakuno feels to summon her, and grants them the honor of being their Master. She feels that, as their Master, they can be allowed to act as their equals without having to use honorifics. Often, when given the option to answer her, she will only offer a single affirmative option rather than allowing a negative answer. She believes that everything she does should be perfect down to the smallest detail, such as a string of flawless victories that make her feel on top of the world after displaying perfection in her swordsmanship. If Hakuno denies being their Master, she states that she cannot understand what they are talking about, believing it to be some form of Eastern humility. She refuses to accept the answer, stating that her tolerance allows for only a single mistake from them. When listing the classes of servants, she mentions a few and then states that the others are unimportant. Only the Sable class has value, and since it's known as the best, it should be obvious that she's Nero.

Nero is often called Red Sabre (赤セイバー, also known as Seibā?) to distinguish her from other Sabers. [9] She is a short but curvaceous young blonde woman with pale white skin, receding yellowish-blonde hair, and bright lime-green eyes. She wears a revealing red and white dress with long, puffy sleeves, a sheer front, a leotard, and knee-high golden armored boots. Nero normally ties her long, loose hair into an elaborate bun. She bears a strong resemblance to another Saber, King Arthur, though there is no blood relation between them. King Arthur was said to be a fusion between two individuals, one of whom was the Roman general Artorius, so there is some sort of link. [10] Self-described beauty and cross-dresser. [ 3 ] She appears dressed as Santa Claus as Saber Santa (セイバーサンタ, Seibā Santa ? ) in the second episode of TYPE-MOON MOVIE Ace 2 . Nero's shapeshifting is based on the image of a Roman gladiator, combined with that of a princess of a new empire. Her legs look really nice in those red tights. She also wore a helmet for added appeal, but it was extremely hot when she tried it on, so she ended up taking it off immediately.

She established the "Festival of Nero" in 59 or 60 AD, an athletic conference held after the Greek Olympic Games every five years. She opened three fields for music, gymnastics, and equestrianism, and openly participated in the events. On July 19, 64 AD, a great conflagration occurred that reduced Rome to ashes. Casualties were kept to a minimum by Nero's swift and appropriate response as administrator, and she gained immense popularity among the citizens by rigorously fulfilling her subsequent promises. These measures are highly praised as "effective measures that exhausted the limits of the human intellect," even by the many historians who criticize her. Later, she founded the Domus Aurea theater, designed by herself.

Nero had to deal with a corrupt Senate and his predatory mother, who dictated policies for her own benefit. Agrippina saw Nero only as a tool to become the mother of the emperor. Conflicts with his mother worsened during this time. As a result, Nero hired an assassin to end his mother's life before she could deal with a troubled Senate. But the assassination failed, and all he could do was publicly denigrate his mother, proclaiming that his own mother tried to poison her. Nero suffered from chronic hysteria, a consequence of his constant use of a silver cup. Nero had been poisoned as a child, so, to avoid defying his mother, he was given the antidote simultaneously. When his mother died, he also took the antidote to the grave, so Nero fell into a feverish delirium. [ 7 ]

Nero's life took a radical turn after his accession to the throne. His wife Octavia committed suicide. His younger half-brother, W.P., was murdered to secure his influence, driving his only mentor, the philosopher Seneca, to suicide. Seneca's death deeply affected Nero, as she considered him a father figure. According to Nero, she repeatedly promised him forgiveness, W.P., but Seneca doubted her word and took her own life in his house. Nero was hurt that Seneca did not believe her words. Because of his selfish actions, Nero was a monster to his relatives, but she boasted of his popularity with the masses. [ 7 ]

Nero's father was Gnaeus Domitius Ahenobarbus WP, a cousin of the fourth emperor, Claudius WP; and his mother, Julia Augusta Agrippina, was the younger sister of Caligula. Because Nero's father was considered a weak man, Nero was prevented from succeeding to the throne. Agrippina eventually remarried the emperor Claudius (Agrippina's uncle) and convinced him to adopt Nero as his heir, which set Nero on the path of becoming emperor by his own evil designs, but initiated by the debauchery of his own mother. Agrippina, by her plotting and manipulation, pressured Claudia Octavia (Claudius's daughter and Nero's half-sister) into marrying Nero. Nero's relatives resented his illegitimate birthright, and relations became strained. Nero had more affection for the nameless masses than for his relatives. [ 7 ]

During her youth, Nero was revered as a highly competent judge who handled several important cases with her impartiality and efficiency, although Claudius had forbidden her to do so due to her young age. Nero eventually succeeded his stepfather after Agrippina murdered Claudius in 54 AD. [7] She was enthroned as emperor at the age of seventeen, which would have been extremely difficult given her origins.

Upon ascending the throne, Nero distributed money to all citizens in celebration. He subsequently abolished all indirect taxes. Unsurprisingly, the public adored Nero's generosity. He attempted to reform a depraved government and a corrupt Senate, but his reforms stalled and were met with hostility. Conflicts with the Senate erupted when Nero attempted to unify the Roman Empire with some troublesome provinces. [ 7 ] In contrast, Nero enjoyed enormous popularity among the citizens thanks to his generous policies; his interest in diplomacy led to improved relations between Britannia and Rome in the following years.
