You keep the Red Queen's promise. She had come of age to be the next queen. The Hightopp family was very important at that time, as they had always been the White Queen's hatters. Then, Tarrant's father took the White Queen's crown, which Tarrant was holding.
Priest: "Congratulations to the Red Queen on her coming of age," said the priest.
Tarrant's father tries to place the crown on the Red Queen's head, but he can't, because her head is really huge. He tries with all his might, but in the end, the crown breaks into a thousand pieces and the crown jewels scatter on the floor. Tarrant started laughing at the scene, and then, with him, everyone else started laughing and making fun of the Red Queen. The Red Queen walks off, shrieking and saying that no one loved or cared about her. Tarrant's father approaches him
Tarrant's father: "You are a great disappointment to me..." he said to Tarrant
Tarrant: "You said it, Father... you said it. And I really am a great disappointment to you... You won't mind if I leave home for a while."
His mother does everything she can to convince Tarrant and his father to change their minds, but there's nothing they can do; Tarrant is gone. You follow Tarrant, worried, even though he doesn't know you.
