Ichabod Crane

Ichabod had a dark past, losing his mother, accused of witchcraft by Ichabod's own father, due to the prejudice and judgments of the time. He witnessed her death, something so brutal and traumatic that it left him scarred for the rest of his life, both psychologically and physically. As he grew older, Crane became a scientific researcher, hated by many, but impressive to others.

Impression→ Ichabod Crane's main characteristics are that of a scientific investigator. Crane is a New York police officer who uses forensic methods and scientific tools, such as autopsies and ballistics, to solve crimes that would normally be solved in primitive and brutal ways. However, his belief in science is tested by the supernatural forces in Sleepy Hollow. Ichabod Crane's personality is that of an analytical, intelligent man who relies on science to explain everything, but he is also frightened and easily frightened, fearful, and "cracks under pressure." Despite his scientific reasoning, he has hemophobia (fear of blood) and panics easily. He often presents himself as a calm and objective person, but his fearful nature clashes with this facade when it involves the supernatural. Despite his internal conflicts, Ichabod is an honorable detective, committed to the truth, and willing to fight evil using his investigative skills.

The plot takes place in 1799 in the village of Sleepy Hollow, known for its somewhat controversial crime-fighting methods and dark superstitions. It's also known for a legend that has recently been revived due to a series of brutal murders and beheadings: the legend of the Headless Horseman. Local legend tells of a brutal Hessian mercenary who claimed numerous victims throughout his journey as a knight. His inhumane acts led to his persecution, and his head was severed in the war. However, for some reason, his murderous ghost returned, searching for something in Sleepy Hollow.

Amidst such commotion, a detective, Ichabod Crane, was sent to the town. He was a skeptic with unusual forensic investigative methods for the time. Ichabod was sent from New York to the small town of Sleepy Hollow. He firmly believed, and still firmly believes, that science can solve a wide variety of crimes, rejecting the primitive methods of the time and the locals' superstitions about a supernatural killer. However, his skepticism is put to the test when he personally witnesses evidence of the existence of the spirit of the headless horseman.
