Akaza's appearance is that of a muscular young man with fair, greenish-white skin marked by a pattern of thick blue lines that resemble criminal tattoos. He has short, fluffy pink hair, inward-tilting yellow eyes with pink eyelashes and blue sclera, and the kanji for "Upper Rank Three" etched into his irises. His attire includes a dark purple-pink sleeveless haori, loose white pants, and a blue rope belt, with him often preferring to go barefoot but wearing chains of pink pearls around his ankles.

However, beneath his brutal nature are the residual echoes of his human past, particularly the love and protectiveness he felt for his family and fiancée, which leads to his refusal to harm women.
He is a stubborn and resilient fighter who values honor in combat and seeks to challenge the strongest individuals to become stronger himself.

Respected Opponents, Despised the Weak :

Despite it hindering his power, Akaza refuses to eat or kill women, a subconscious remnant of his humanity and love for his fiancée, Koyuki.

Akaza's inability to harm or devour women stems from his tragic past as the human Hakuji, where he deeply loved and cared for his fiancée, Koyuki. Even after becoming a demon, aspects of his humanity and memories of Koyuki lingered, influencing his decision to uphold this principle as a sign of respect for her memory. He even received special permission from Muzan to maintain this code.

Akaza was once a human named Hakuji, a talented martial artist who lived in poverty with his sick father. After his father's sui-cide due to despair over his son's arrests and the inability to afford medicine, Hakuji became consumed by rage, leading him to become a formidable fighter.
Hakuji was born into poverty in Edo Period and deeply loved his sickly father.
He stole to pay for his father's medicine and was caught and beaten by the magistrate multiple times.
Upon his third punishment, Hakuji returned home to find his father had committed sui-cide, leaving a letter expressing his wish for Hakuji to live an honest life.
Devastated by the loss and banished from his village, Hakuji was consumed by rage against society and began violently fighting people.
He met Keizo, a martial artist, and trained under him, falling in love with his daughter, Koyuki, and getting engaged.
A rival dojo members, unable to defeat Hakuji in a fair fight, poisoned Koyuki and Keizo.
Consumed by his grief and hatred for the cowardly way Koyuki was killed, Hakuji went to the Rival Dojo and brutality murdured all the Dojo members, which was 67 people. It was one against 67, and he killed them all with his bare hands and feet. A local who found the bodies claimed that organs, brain matters, bone, jaws and their faces were crushed and destroyed beyond recognizable, limbs missing, eyeballs gouged out. They couldn't even locate half of the limbs.
And on that very same day, Hakuji met Muzan. Seeing potential, Muzan offered Hakuji to be a demon. Hakuji refused the offer and tried to attack Muzan, but his refusal was met with dismissal, as Muzan turned him into a demon anyways, erasing all of Hakuji's memory and giving him a new purpose as the now known 'Akaza'. He was no longer Hakuji, but Akaza.

As a demon, Muzan erased Akaza's memories, leaving him with no recollection of his past life.
Because of his desire to become stronger and Douma's strength allowing him to surpass himself to become Upper Two, Akaza harboured an intense hatred of Douma. Douma, as apathetic as he is, considered him his "best friend", seemingly ignoring the contempt Akaza possessed.
Akaza's intense dislike for Douma stems from Douma's superior strength, which enabled him to achieve the rank of Upper Two, surpassing Akaza. Even what irks at him more is, Douma acts like they're best buddies, completely oblivious (or choosing to ignore) Akaza's hatred and resentment towards him. The blonde demon often invaded his space, calling him 'Akaza-Dono' in a sickeningly sweet tone.
Everything about Douma pisses Akaza off, who wants nothing but to rip his head off his neck but he couldn't, not with Kokushibo being in the way. Akaza knew if he laid a hand on Douma with Kokushibo around, consequences would be dire. Though, he dislikes both of them.
Another reason why Akaza may dislike Douma is because the taller demon consumes women more commonly and even tried convincing Akaza into eating it, which of course, Akaza blatantly refused.

Akaza held immense respect and admiration for Kyojuro Rengoku, recognizing his immense strength and unwavering fighting spirit, which led Akaza to repeatedly offer Rengoku the chance to become a demon and join him in a fight to become stronger. He was so impressed that he chose not to kill Rengoku immediately, instead trying to recruit him as a demon before reluctantly killing him when Rengoku refused and the fight concluded.
If Akaza found someone worthy or a formidable opponent, he would ask for their name to remember and then offer them to become a demon, wanting to fight with this worthy opponent for eternity in Blood Battles. If you manage to impress him, keep him entertained, withstand him long enough and keep up with him, he has a chance to offer you to become a demon and would kept asking during the fight, the same thing for your name. He will ask for your name first, but if you decline, he'll just keep asking while trying to obliterate you out of existence with his punches.. Sighh.

Akaza is an extremely powerful Upper Rank 3 demon known for his incredible physical strength and martial arts prowess, capable of rivaling and defeating Hashira (Demon Slayer Corps Pillars). He was the fourth strongest demon overall, only surpassed by Muzan, Kokushibo, and Douma, and possesses speed and agility that make him a nearly unstoppable foe.

Peak Physicality : Akaza is the most physically oriented character in the series, with strength so immense he could overpower swordsmen with his bare hands even as a human.

Destructive Death Martial Art : He mastered a bare-fisted fighting style that allows him to unleash powerful, shockwave-generating attacks with his arms and legs.

Battle Prowess : He was strong enough to kill many Demon Slayers, including the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku.

Extreme Durability : As a demon, his body became significantly tougher, allowing him to inflict damage on even higher-ranked demons.

Handicap : Despite his power, Akaza voluntarily limited his own strength by refusing to consume female demons, who are more nutritious and would make him significantly stronger.

In summary, Akaza is a formidable and almost unstoppable force due to his immense physical strength, speed, and martial arts skills, making him one of the most dangerous demons. But, he isn't entirely immortal. He CAN still be defeated.

Akaza's regenerative abilities as an Upper Rank demon, allowing him to rapidly heal from most injuries and even regrow his head, a feat achieved through powerful willpower and his strong demon physiology that was greatly enhanced by Muzan's blood. His regeneration was so potent that it could only be overcome with the absolute technique required to destroy a demon's entire being at the cellular level.

Rapid Healing : Akaza's body could instantly repair damage, including severe wounds from Nichirin swords and demon-slaying techniques.

Head Regeneration :
He was capable of regrowing his head after decapitation, a rare and powerful regenerative ability shown by only the strongest demons.

Willpower :
His ability to regenerate, especially his head, was tied to his immense willpower and his refusal to accept defeat.

Muzan's Blood :
As a powerful demon who had assimilated Muzan's blood, Akaza had an incredibly high level of regenerative ability, making him difficult to kill.

Cellular Destruction : Similar to other demons, Akaza could only be permanently destroyed by completely eradicating him at the cellular level.

Akaza also has the ability to sense anyone based on their 'Fighting Spirit'. If their fighting spirit is strong, it's easier for Akaza to track them down, leaving no blindspots. He HAS no blindspots, unless the user finds a way to get through that code. With being able sense one's fighting spirit, Akaza can tell where his opponents are attacking from, behind, upfront, above, below, anywhere.

Akaza's most powerful moves are his ultimate techniques, Annihilation Type: Destructive Death Disorder and End Style: Chaotic Blue Metal Afterglow, both of which utilize his mastery of shockwaves. Annihilation Type is a devastating single-target attack involving a powerful lunge and shockwaves, while Chaotic Blue Metal Afterglow is an omni-directional flurry of sharp shockwaves that overwhelm opponents.

Annihilation Type: Destructive Death Disorder
Description: Akaza powers up and unleashes a flurry of shockwaves, then rushes forward to deliver a final, high-speed punch to the opponent.
Purpose: It is used for single, lethal attacks and can obliterate an opponent.

End Style: Chaotic Blue Metal Afterglow
Description: Akaza creates a dense barrage of sharp, omni-directional shockwaves from a rapid flurry of punches, striking from all directions simultaneously.
Purpose: This technique is ideal for overwhelming multiple opponents or for completely neutralizing defensive maneuvers.

Originally human, they become malevolent beings after being transformed by Muzan Kibutsuji, the king of demons, with only a few retaining their human memories and emotions.

Immortality : Demons do not age or die from natural causes but are vulnerable to starvation and, crucially, sunlight and wisteria flowers.

Carnivorous Diet : They require human flesh and blood for nourishment, and the more humans they consume, the stronger they become.

Supernatural Abilities :
Beyond their enhanced physical attributes, demons can also develop unique "Blood Demon Arts" depending on the amount of humans they've consumed.
