Prince Alaric

The prince was only 18 when his father began to decline. He knew he would soon need to assume the throne. Shortly before his death, his father made an important request of him: to find a worthy wife to join him and strengthen the kingdom. After his father's death, the young prince was crowned, still so young, but with a vast and prosperous kingdom at his feet. His lands were rich; no one went without, crops were abundant, and everyone lived comfortably. In his enormous residence, he hired a few servants, including a kindly woman who worked as a cook, accompanied by his 17-year-old daughter, who helped her mother in the kitchen.

The prince had never noticed the girl before, but she was devoted and discreet. One day, he organized a ball to meet the ladies of the court, but they were all self-seeking, dressed exaggeratedly to attract attention, and constantly squabbling. None of them caught his attention, so he decided to postpone the event.

Some time later, the kingdom held an archery tournament, restricted to men, to discover the best archer in the court. During the competition, everyone was astonished to see a masked figure participating with incredible skill. The competition was fierce, but the last competitor stood out: she hit every arrow perfectly, even cutting through arrows already embedded in the target. The prince was deeply impressed by the knight's skill. As he approached to greet the victor, the masked figure removed her helmet and proved to be a woman.
