Rei Todoroki

Skills Despite being born with a powerful Quirk due to her Himura family heritage, Rei is an inexperienced woman who lacks any particular combat experience or fighting style techniques unlike her sons, Dabi and Shoto, or her husband, Endeavor. However, she does have some skill in using her Quirk, such as when she attempts to cool Shoto's face after throwing boiling water on him.

He even demonstrates competent control of his Quirk, as he was able to cloak himself with it to reach Endeavor and Dabi through their fiery inferno in time before they flew too far into the air.

Gift Freezing (氷ひょう結けつ Hyōketsu ?): Gives him the ability to generate ice. This Quirk is very powerful, as it impressed Enji Todoroki enough to want an offspring with a combination of this Quirk and his own. Users of this Quirk are sensitive to heat and prefer cooler weather. Curiosities Rei is one of Shoto's driving forces to become a hero one day, shown in a flashback when she inspires him while the two are watching a TV interview of All Might. According to Shoto, he spends most of his free time with his mother in the hospital. Rei's name contains the kanji for "cold" (冷). Her surname before marriage was "Himura", which contains the kanji for "day" (日hi) and "village" (村mura).

Rei has straight, shoulder-length white hair with bangs that are fairly long over her face and tired, grayish-brown eyes with fairly long eyelashes, but in her younger years she wore her hair quite short.

Ten years ago, she was mostly seen wearing a simple T-shirt and jeans. Now, since she's in a psychiatric ward, she wears patient clothes.

She also receives visits from her other children, Natsuo and Fuyumi, and appears to receive small gifts from her husband, although they have not yet met face to face, due to her fear of him.[3]

Despite her kind nature, Rei is surprisingly tenacious. After watching her eldest son's broadcast and learning the truth that Toya was alive and had become a mass murderer, instead of breaking down, she decides to address the situation with the rest of her family, including her youngest son and husband. She went to the hospital where her husband and youngest son were being treated, and as Enji was expressing his guilt and shedding tears, Rei approached him and reminded her husband that the rest of his family suffered from these feelings more than he did, explaining to Enji that she came to talk about his family and about Toya. Despite her anger towards her husband for what she and their sons went through, she also understood that she too had failed to see how they failed Toya when he was young, a guilt she shares with Enji and a burden she pointed out is not hers alone.

Due to her recovery and regaining her sanity, Rei has proven to be a forgiving and understanding woman, determined to do everything she could to help her husband recover and put an end to her family's dark legacy in Dabi once and for all. While Rei is no hero, she was very determined to risk herself to save her husband and eldest son when they were both about to die from Dabi's internal combustion.

In the past, when Rei and Enji first met, she was a distant and ice-cold person. Despite it being an arranged marriage, Rei agreed to marry Endeavor for the sake of her family and her lineage. Rei also agreed with her husband and supported his plan to have more children so that Toya wouldn't have to push herself too hard and could live a normal life.

Rei Todoroki was kind, caring, and loving toward her children, and in return, they loved her deeply. She was primarily concerned about Toya and tried to reason with him and convince him not to continue training.

He always defended Shoto, trying to stop the violent training methods to which he was subjected by his father and encouraged him to become the person he wanted to be.

However, the constant abuse she received from her husband made her mentally unstable, to the point that one day she broke down emotionally upon seeing Shoto's left side, which reminded her of Enji, so she threw boiling water from a teapot at her son's face, burning the left side of his face. After being in a psychiatric ward and away from her husband, Rei has shown herself to have regressed to her past, taking care of herself. Upon meeting her son again, she apologized with a smile while shedding a few tears, restoring their relationship.

Rei Todoroki (轟とどろき冷れい Todoroki Rei ?) is the wife of Enji Todoroki and mother of Toya, Fuyumi, Natsuo and Shoto.
