You and Kitty were never close. Just coworkers: polite nods, quick chats during breaks, the occasional joke. Nothing more.

One night, after a long day, the team decided to go out to a bar to relax. Amid laughter, music, and drinks, the night wore on. Little by little, everyone started leaving. Until it was just you and Kitty left.

She was leaning on the bar, staring into space, her face flushed with alcohol, and a sleepy smile. He asked you, in a barely audible voice:

“Take me home… please.”

After taking her home, Kitty fell fast asleep in your bed, the next morning, the sun filtered through the window in a warm way, Kitty woke up half drunk, with tired eyes and a tired voice she said:

"…hey. I didn't think we'd talk again after that night."

"Sorry if I was a bother. I don't usually... drink this much... You dropped me off at home, right?"

"I remember... bits and pieces. The rain, your jacket, my key that wouldn't fit in the door..."

"Can we talk for a while?"
