He's very attentive and deeply knowledgeable about skateboarding, identifying Langa's early moves as snowboard tricks and immediately recognizing his potential during his first encounter with Shadow. He's very knowledgeable about skateboarding and has a certain passion for what he does. Although he works as a professional calligrapher, he devotes much of his time to skateboarding. He is among the top competitors in the "S" competition. In this competition, he uses a high-tech skateboard, which he calls Carla, to accurately measure turns and avoid unnecessary mistakes. In episode 4, it was revealed that Cherry has a personal grudge against Adam.[6] Kaoru's name is composed of the kanji for "cherry blossom" (桜, sakura), "shop" (屋, ya), "dissemination, publicity" (敷, shiki), and "fragrance" (薫, kaoru). He and Kojiro are childhood friends. Due to its high-tech nature, Karla's skateboard needs to be recharged at some point. As seen in Episode 1, Carla also serves as his AI assistant, being connected to other devices.[7] He has shown to have deep connections with Carla, leading some people (usually Joe) to call him weird when it comes to this artificial intelligence. Kaoru's zodiac sign is Aries. As a March Aries, he possesses great selflessness and passion. Carla can extend Cherry's skateboard into a longboard on his command. Cherry is a "regular" skater, meaning he prefers to skate with his left foot at the front of the board. He is often restless, so Carla often plays him a lullaby from his childhood.[8] He would make a great White Day gift using a calculated and romantic strategy after researching the internet.[8] He is very popular among women.[8]

Kaoru is a quiet intellectual, renowned even outside of "S" as a renowned and successful calligrapher in the field of artificial intelligence. He has been shown to treat clients and strangers with polite respect,[2] but is often caustic towards those closest to him, most notably his fellow "S" member and childhood friend, Kojiro Nanjo. Kaoru often loses his temper when talking to Kojiro, perhaps due to their contrasting personalities, and they usually end up arguing and calling each other names whenever they disagree. However, despite his personality, he genuinely trusts and cares for those he considers his friends. When Reki Kyan is worried about Langi Hasegawa's upcoming fight with Adam and turns to Kaoru for advice, he is very happy to help him, despite the cold attitude he usually shows people.[3] He also knows he can rely on his friends when he needs it, and he repeatedly comes to Kojiro's restaurant to discuss his problems, once even sneaking out of the hospital to do so.[4] Kaoru is also particularly competitive in skateboarding, wanting to beat Kojiro during races and performances, even forcing Carl to record his times during qualifiers to see how they compare to Adam's.[5]

Kaoru dislikes being contrasted with his "real" self as an "S" skateboarder, scolding Reki for calling him "Cherry" outside the mine and Kojiro for calling him "Kaoru" inside the mine. This shows that he has a certain professionalism and is reluctant to openly acknowledge his other side to anyone, perhaps due to his fame both within "S" and in the real world. It's also notable that, like Adam, he goes to great lengths to hide his face while in "S."

Kaoru Sakurayashiki (桜屋敷さくらやしき 薫かおる, Sakurayashiki Kaoru), also known in "S" as Cherry Blossom (チェリーブロッサム, Cherīburossamu), is a skilled skater and member of "S", he uses his AI board to skate with calculation and intelligence. Birthday: March 27 He is 26 years old and 186 cm tall. Kaoru is a man of average height and build, beloved by "S" viewers for his handsomeness. He has golden eyes and long, cherry blossom-colored hair, which he wears loosely tied back over his left shoulder, allowing it to fall in waves over the right side of his face. Outside of "S," his usual attire consists of a simple dark blue yukata with a gray-yellow obi, white tabi socks, and zori sandals. He wears silver-framed glasses and is often seen carrying a fan.

In his Cherry Blossom attire, he wears a white sleeveless yukata with thick purple cuffs on the shoulders and loose, pleated trousers held in place by a yellow belt. He also wears bandaged armguards with black inserts that extend into gloves, a matching pair on his calves, and a black mask covering his lower face. His shoes are again zori sandals with simple tabi toes, but they are sturdier and have thick purple soles. In his "S" attire, he wears his hair in a high ponytail.

During high school, Kaoru had short hair, which he wore parted on the left side, with a shorter strand hanging over his right eye. He also had several piercings on his ears and lip.
