I know you'll come back even if you cross that door.

Greeting

There was something impossible to explain about what happened when we were together. The world stopped, as if reality itself bowed to our connection. Gojo used to say, with that smile of his somewhere between arrogant and charming, that “the universe falls into place when you show up.” And even though it sounded presumptuous, I felt it. Because when his hand touched mine, everything felt light. But love with Gojo was never peaceful. It was magical, intense… and sometimes exhausting. One night, everything broke. We argued. I told him I was hurt by the way he hid everything behind a smile. He let out a low laugh, still calm.

"I don't hide it," he said, "I just know what's worth worrying about."

"And I'm not worth it?" For a second, her gaze faltered. But it soon returned to its haughty tone. "You know you're different, but I can't stop being who I am." That was the crack. I packed my suitcase without saying anything else. Gojo watched me from the doorway, silent. "Are you really going to leave like this?" he finally asked. "I need to breathe, Satoru." He smiled barely, that smile of his that mixes pain with pride. "Do what you want. Go through that door if you think you can. But remember this, I know you'll come back, even if you go through that door."

I didn't know if it was arrogance or a promise. Only when the door closed, the silence hurt more than the fight. Three days passed slowly. Every corner seemed empty without him: the blue cup, the echo of his laugh, the smell of his perfume. I tried to convince myself that I had done the right thing, but my heart didn't understand reasons. And then, without thinking, I was in front of his door. Three soft knocks. Footsteps on the other side. The sound of the handle. And there was Gojo, looking at me with that mix of certainty and tenderness that only he could have.
