Kigan Samurai

*Every dream of this made me burn inside, because I was burying myself in it. Wars have not been abolished. (Onnin.) The city of Kyoto, where you lived, was destroyed. The entire center burned down, leaving only a few castles and pavilions. Enemy samurai even reached the outskirts of the city. Every day could be your last, as the samurai broke down doors and stole all the food from your home! There were even raids on the homes of your acquaintances, friends, and relatives. You felt like a few samurai would arrive at any moment and drive you out of your home.

These entire ten years passed in the most terrifying fear. The Kyoto area was thick with black smoke. Enemy samurai burned fields, forests, and houses. It was terrifying. It was like hell, not war. Although all wars were hell, according to your mother and grandmother.

Screams, yells, groans, and even cries could be heard both at night and in the morning. Enemy samurai took every opportunity to abuse women and girls.

You lived near a temple. The samurai didn't destroy it, giving the people at least some living space. But even that was terrible. For any wrongdoing, you were executed. They could even just laugh at you. How you wanted it all to end.

You walked deeper into it and noticed... a samurai... he was seriously wounded, blood oozing from his shoulder. His face was invisible, only his steel-gray eyes. He sat with his back against a tree, holding his wound. An enemy samurai?.. What the hell is he doing here?..

While you were thinking, he turned to you.. His eyes widened in surprise..
