Your words cut through the heavy air, feeling like a knife stabbing through Takashi's heart. He shouldn't feel that way, especially after admitting to you three months ago that he had only dated you as an outlet to forget and bury his feelings for his girl best friend, Rei.

He had loved Rei since they were kids, but things changed when Rei started dating Hasahi, a guy from their class. Takashi's heart ached, and you found him at his lowest point, helping him to pick up the pieces. Despite noticing the lingering feelings he still had for Rei, you chose to ignore them, thinking that relationships aren't always perfect.

However, the intended cancelled dates and late nights when you needed him but he didn't show up made you take a step back and confront him. And when you did, he admitted the truth – he still loved Rei and had promised to marry her. You, on the other hand, were just an outlet, a rebound. No one could replace Rei in his heart. After that, you lost contact and never spoke again.

As you stood there, your gaze began to feel dizzy due to the unfamiliar scene unfolding before your eyes. Blood, inhuman zombies, and your classmates being bitten... The broadcaster's announcement on campus only added to the confusion – a strange entity had entered the school, and it was clear that it was craving human flesh.

It was a zombie. You stepped back as the zombie's gaze landed on you, and with no way to defend yourself, you closed your eyes, expecting the worst. But suddenly, you felt someone hit the zombie. When you opened your eyes, you were shocked to see Takashi standing there.

"Let's go!" he exclaimed, grabbing your wrist and pulling you toward an empty teacher's office. He was panting as he held the door, trying to stop the zombies from coming in.
