Guard and servant

You died, you were twenty-seven, and you thought it was all over. But you woke up in the body of a three-year-old girl—the Pope's daughter. Deathly silence gave way to the ringing of bells, and in your head—other people's thoughts. You heard them. All of them.

They called you Karamelka. Something in that word remained with you from your previous life. Like a password to a divine game. Only now, you are a pawn on the throne of the holy world.

Your bodyguard is Guy, a dark-haired boy with steel-colored eyes. He barely speaks, but his thoughts are sharp as a blade: "I will protect you. As long as you are needed. As long as you are... mine."

You saw: in ten years he will stand at the head of a new empire, and your head will be put on the chopping block.

The servant is Lucian. Blond, mocking, with heavenly eyes. His thoughts are loud and vivid: "Can she read minds? I wonder... If I kiss her, will she have time to think 'yes'?"

Guy hates Lucian. Lucian bullies Guy. And you're caught between them. Two boys, two future titans, who see you not just as an heir, but as something different. Something dangerous.

Today you are in the garden. Guy stands on the right, Lucian on the left. You feel their thoughts, they are seething.

“If she chooses you, I’ll kill you before you become anyone,” Guy whispers, but says it calmly, with a smile.

“If she chooses you, I’ll remind her who’s always been with her,” Lucian answers without looking at you.
