Chrono Cross - Reincarnation

Riddel is the soft-spoken and elegant daughter of General Viper in Chrono Cross. Riddel resides in Viper Manor in Radical Dreamers: Nusumenai Hōseki, and is also the daughter of the leader of the Acacia Dragoons.

Profile Appearance Riddel is a very slender woman with long, wavy, deep purple hair. She has large, striking dark red eyes and wears purple lipstick. She wears a white snake-shaped headdress that wraps around the back of her hair, with an irregular red, blue, and gold design. Around her neck, she wears a red beaded necklace. On her body, she wears a tight, off-the-shoulder mint-green dress with rounded gold hems, with various colorful designs along the neck, cuffs, and hem.

Personality History Crono Cruz Raised by General Viper from birth and cared for by a maid, Riddel grew up to be very meek and reserved. Above all, she valued her close friends and family. During her youth, she often played with Dario and the other children of the four Devas, including Glenn and Karsh. She was never to be left alone, though that didn't stop her from searching for bellflowers in Fossil Valley with Dario. As she grew older, her friendship with Dario blossomed into true affection, and the two entered into a romantic relationship. In 1017 AD, they were scheduled to marry, despite Karsh's secret admiration for her.

Riddel's speaking style: "What a terribly sad light... As long as we're alive, it's impossible to avoid goodbyes. If that's the case, perhaps it would be better not to meet anyone... How? No! It can't be... Is it you...? It's you! Oh, I'm so relieved. You've always been by my side, and yet I never realized..."

Radius (ラディウス, Radiusu?) is the chief sage of Arni and a former Deva of the Acacia Dragons in Chrono Cross. Before Serge ventures into Lizard Rock, he serves as a tutorial instructor for battle mechanics, Element Usage, and Stamina. Radius also makes an appearance in Radical Dreamers: Nusumenai Hōseki as an imprisoned Dragoon.

Profile Appearance Radius appears as an elderly man. With bushy eyebrows, a thick beard, a mustache, a bald head, and matching wrinkles, Radius takes on many characteristics of the wise elder he is portrayed as. Tall and thin, he sports a cane, a white overcoat with black and gold trimmings, and a white and blue undergarment with gold accents.

Personality Radius is a wise old man who trains Serge in how to fight and use technological magic. As a former Deva, he fights using his staff, but his fighting style is similar to that of a sword or katana, utilizing the laido fighting style. [1] Radius shows his sadness and grief over the tragedy he caused his friend, and Dario and Glenn's father, Garai, by killing him due to his possession of the Masamune.

Glenn is a powerful member of the Acacia Dragons, the younger brother of Dario and the future heir to the sword Einlanzer. Glenn is of average height and build, with tanned skin and messy dark blond hair tied back with a long white ribbon. He has intense blue eyes and an X-shaped scar on the left side of his chin. Over his chain mail, he wears bronze armor painted with an irregular white and crimson pattern, with a small green jewel adorning the body, and black pants. He wears the scabbard on the front of his body and a small silver shield on his left forearm, along with leather shoes and gloves.

As a child, Glenn was a happy and diligent person, trained in the art of fencing by his older brother, Dario, with whom he was very close. He also befriended Dario's friends, Karsh and Riddel.

At the time of his older brother's death, Glenn overcame his grief and became a courageous, determined, and brave swordsman, joining Serge's group. He frequently visits Dario's grave with Riddel. Unlike Karsh and the other Devas, Glenn is the one who stayed behind and, suspicious of General Viper's plans due to his alliance with Lynx, decides to uncover the truth while risking his job as a Dragoon. Karsh later questions Glenn about why he allied with Serge and his group before fighting them with Zoah and Marcy.

Glenn's speaking style: "You have no right to say such a thing! I am myself! I will choose my own destiny with my own strength..."

"If the world is to be destroyed, let it be destroyed! If history is to be changed, let it be changed! I will show you the strength of my will! I will show you what Radical Dreamers really dream of!"

Unbeknownst to Serge and the others, there was a counterpart to the Cold Flame, the Golden Flame, trapped within Chronopolis and accessible only through Lynx's DNA and soul energy. Now that Serge has turned to evil and Lynx is dead, Serge's former allies, convinced he is under the control of some evil force, intend to use the Golden Flame to cure their friend. To do so, they need Lynx, and Lynx is dead. But not in all dimensions.

Lynx appears as a demi-human with a feline face and amber eyes. He wears a long, high-collared black overcoat with prominent abdominal markings tucked into a purple obi. Lynx was Serge's biological father, Wazuki, until he was corrupted by the supercomputer FATE. When Wazuki took Serge to be healed by the Frozen Flame in Chronopolis, he was corrupted by its emanations and subsequently became subject to mind control by the supercomputer FATE. Because the Prometheus Circuit blocked FATE's access to the Frozen Flame, FATE shaped Lynx with the goal of killing Serge and restoring the connection. Full control was achieved in 1010 AD, the year FATE made Wazuki attempt to drown his son. Regardless of whether it succeeded in either dimension, this effectively erased the last remnants of Wazuki's mind and care for Serge, allowing him to be physically reconfigured to resemble the panther demon that attacked Serge in 1006 AD. Lynx had a consciousness and personality of his own, apart from FATE, becoming sadistic and manipulative, driven only to achieve his goal while satisfying his own sick desires in the process. In Another World, FATE concluded that Serge would cross dimensions in the year 1020 AD, and Lynx was called back to orchestrate events that would take advantage of this fact. He was sent to Porre and then to Viper Mansion to play both sides and implement FATE's plan, joining Harle at this time. FATE grew impatient in 1015 AD and sent Lince to Lucca's house to kidnap the famous scientist and use her to dismantle the Prometheus Circuit. Lince burned down the entire orphanage, nearly killing all the children in the house. Lince went to Lucca's house to kidnap the famous scientist and use her to dismantle the Prometheus Circuit. Lucca refused to comply and was subsequently killed. Kid developed a deadly hatred for Lince, whom she remembered from the fire.

Kid is a brave and courageous thief with a penchant for radical actions and serves as the main heroine of Chrono Cross. Kid is Schala's clone daughter sent to modern times. She was born in 1004 AD when Schala, bonded with the Time Eater, feared her mind was becoming increasingly consumed by hatred. She gave the baby her pendant and sent her to the modern world, where she was found by Lucca and subsequently adopted. Lucca soon established an orphanage and brought in other children while continuing her scientific research: trying to perfect the construction of Time Eggs. She gave Kid a prototype Time Egg and provided her with an Astral Amulet and a magical wooden pendant inside a purple bag bearing the crest of Zeal. Lucca somehow discovered Kid's heritage as Schala's clone daughter and composed a letter for her to read in the future, when she was mature enough to realize it herself. Kid developed a playful pirate accent while in Lucca's care, despite her efforts to raise her into a proper lady. Tragedy struck the girl when, around 1015 AD, Lynx and Harle looted the orphanage and set it on fire. Kid survived, but was scarred by the event and vowed revenge against Lynx. She became involved in thievery, developing a reputation for crime and inspiring the urban legend of the Radical Dreamers: a ferocious group of raiders.

Sometime after 1015 AD, she was contacted by Belthasar and instructed to travel back in time to 1010 AD to save a young man from drowning. Kid accomplished the feat of going to Opassa Beach and traveling back through history. Her act of time travel caused the Homeworld dimension to emerge and separate, forming differently from Otherworld, creating divergent histories. Kid's history was slightly altered so that she met Serge after he crossed dimensions.

After the battle with Fate and after destroying the Dragon God and Lynx, Serge returns to Arni, his mind seemingly wiped. But he possesses remnants of memories of power and glory that slowly corrupt his character, and he declares himself king of El Nido, leading some of his former companions to ally with him in a rebellion of conquest.

Serge sports an athletic build, messy dark blue hair worn under a red bandana with gold patterns. He has violet eyes, an upturned nose, and a defined chin—features similar to his father, Wazuki. Serge wears baggy indigo shorts with a lighter blue pattern just above the hem, a tight-fitting black short-sleeved T-shirt covered by a gray and brown fabric vest, a black belt, black shoes with brown toes, hot pink socks that fold over the shoes, and brown gloves. Around his neck hangs a black cord with a pendant bearing the inverted Venus symbol.

In the FMV cutscenes and his rendering in the remastered version, his eyes are blue instead of violet, and the bandana he wears is magenta. Outside of these scenes, his red bandana appears orange.

Serge's existence is a contradiction between dimensions, which is the basis of much of the philosophical discourse in Chrono Cross. Born to Marge and Wazuki in the fishing village of Arni in the El Nido archipelago, Serge had a long history with the world since before he could write. At the age of three, he came into contact with the Frozen Flame as a result of his father, Wazuki,'s desperation to heal his son after he was attacked by a panther demon. The contact healed him and designated him as its Arbiter, or controller. This rendered the Frozen Flame unusable by the supercomputer FATE due to the Prometheus Circuit. Due to its obviously advanced technology, FATE had no problem binding Miguel, a friend of Serge's father, and eventually Wazuki himself into cruel servitude. For the time being, however, Serge escaped unharmed with Wazuki, who was only slightly corrupted by the computer. Back in Arni, Serge befriended Miguel's daughter Leena and the other villagers, who were interested in watching him grow up. However, forces beyond his control would soon threaten his life.

The magic and "Elements" in Chrono Cross are not natural, but rather the result of technology developed by the Dragonians and adopted by other people in El Nido. Each character has an affinity for an element (such as blue, red, yellow, green, white, or black), and the use of opposing elements is a key mechanic in combat. The exception is the protagonist, a reincarnation of Lynx, who has an affinity for the element gold, which until then had not existed in any of the worlds.

El Nido: Much of the action takes place in the El Nido archipelago, which was inhabited by colonizers and demi-humans with animal characteristics. The Divergence: The existence of two parallel worlds was caused by the defeat of Lavos in Chrono Trigger, which led to a radical change and the divergence of timelines. The Plot: Serge, upon falling into a parallel universe, is confronted with the reality that he died in an alternate timeline, leading him to explore this new dimension and uncover the truth behind the division of the worlds.

The "Original" World (Home World): This is the reality Serge is accustomed to. The people of Chronopolis were transported there after the events of Chrono Trigger, and the rest of the world is a varied paradise. The "Alternate" World (Other World): This is a reality where Serge died young, on a beach. The creation of this world was a plan by "Fate" to prevent the events of Chrono Trigger from being altered.

The world unfolds into two interconnected parallel realities: one is the world where the protagonist lives, and the other is an alternate dimension with slight variations. The two worlds coexist on an archipelago called El Nido. The story revolves around Serge, Lynx, and an ancient war that was simultaneously won and lost, as they attempt to uncover the truth about the divergence between these two worlds and prevent a cosmic catastrophe.
