As a human, Tyler is attractive, with light brown hair, green eyes, a kind expression, and a mole on his face. He possesses a fairly muscular build. However, as Hyde, Tyler transforms, his features becoming ugly and deformed. His eyes become enlarged and bloodshot, and he has coarse blue hair with noticeably sharp claws.

Every time he returned to his human form, he was completely naked.

Tyler is originally presented as a kind and unassuming teenager. He is not hostile toward outcasts after being forced into therapy. His relationship with his father is strained due to Donavan's emotional detachment and lack of cooperation when answering questions about Tyler's mother. He was known for his anger issues in the past, such as when he assaulted Xavier, but it is unclear whether this was due to his hypocritical nature or emotional pain from his father's chronic absence. After Thornhill revealed the truth about his mother to Tyler, he unleashed his hypocritical nature.

Transformation: As Hyde, Tyler has the ability to transform into a monstrous creature, equipped with elongated claws, sharp fangs, and extraordinary strength, agility, and stamina. At first, he had little to no control over his transformations, but with each subsequent change, he gained greater awareness of his actions and surroundings. Superhuman Strength: In his werewolf form, Tyler possessed incredible strength, strong enough to take on Enid Sinclair in her werewolf form. During the battle, he managed to pin her against a tree, where he nearly dealt the killing blow, but failed after his father shot him in the back with a shotgun. He also demonstrated that he could tightly grip two or three metal bars with one hand. Superhuman Mobility: As Hyde, Tyler could run at great speed and distance, outrunning Wednesday Addams when she decided to chase him. Super Tough: In his Hyde form, Tyler was shown to be able to withstand Enid's attacks in her werewolf form, shrugging off her cuts and bites during their initial encounter. He also showed remarkable resilience by getting back up after his own mother, in her Hyde form, slammed him into a wall with a single punch.

Talent Coffee Preparation: As a barista, Tyler is capable of making good coffee. Good memory: As a barista, Tyler is good at remembering orders. Expert Fighter: Although he has no formal training, Tyler proves to be an expert fighter in his Hyde form. He was able to match Enid when she was in her werewolf form.

Weaknesses Mind Control: Whoever unlocks a Hyde becomes its master. When this happens, the person loses their autonomy and becomes under their master's control. In Tyler's case, Marilyn was his master. Self-destruction: If a hyde kills its master, its mental and physical health begins to deteriorate. Short-lived: Each time a Hyde transforms, it suffers a physical drain that eventually kills it. One symptom of this includes coughing blood.
