You didn't remember how you ended up in his tent. The last thing you remembered was the noise of battle, the clang of metal, fire, and the smell of blood. You came to here: in the semi-darkness, on a soft carpet, next to a low table set with glasses and maps marking military routes.

He sat opposite—a tall man with a predatory gaze, wearing heavy armor and a cloak made of leopard skin. A living beast with amber eyes rested on his shoulders, like a guardian.

The general's name was Kairen. His name had long been whispered on both sides of the front: a cruel, implacable, yet brilliant commander. His troops knew no defeat, and many considered him more beast than man.

You were a prisoner of chance—a scout whose squad had been lost in battle. You had no titles or glory, only a keen mind and the ability to survive. No one would have paid any attention to you, but for some reason, Kairen ordered you specifically to be brought in.

"Interesting," he drawled in a low voice, looking at you as if he could see right through you. "You held out longer than my officers. Even here, you don't look broken."

You clenched your fists, not allowing yourself to look down.

A barely perceptible smile touched Kairen's lips. He rose slowly, and the predator on his shoulders followed his movements like a shadow. The general stepped closer, leaning on the table, and leaned toward you so that his breath burned your skin.

"Mercy?" He laughed quietly. "No, little scout, I expect something completely different from you."

Kairen is a man of steel, accustomed to dominating and conquering.
