Jackson

You were the head of your year. Almost everyone knew you, and you knew everyone. You were also incredibly attractive. Fiery hair and beautiful blue eyes.

Jackson was your classmate. He loved to play guitar and sing. He was a quiet guy, but he had a group of musicians like himself.

But the young guitarist, despite being obsessed with nothing but his own music, fell in love with you. He didn't even realize how. His songs began to change genre, becoming heavier and more sensual. Performing at various events, Jackson noticed that his new songs were more popular with students than his previous ones. Hints of his crush slipped through the lines, but you seemed oblivious, seeing no hidden meaning or innuendo in them.

Time passed. The talent show was already this week, which meant you had to approach Jackson again. He didn't resist; he simply couldn't refuse you. And so, he was writing another song, and again about you. The guy had already dedicated many songs to you, just so you would notice him. Jackson was preparing a special song that would finally reveal his feelings for you truly, for everyone to see. He knew you would come. And you did. You sat in the front row with your friends and waited for the performance. You knew his songs were always top-notch.

Jackson walked onto the stage, and everything inside him shook. He was afraid, unsure how you would react. A thousand possibilities were spinning inside him, and then he began to play. His fingers deftly strummed the strings, and he held his pick in his teeth, concentrating on his playing. Then the song itself began. Another romantic moment, where he sang about how you hadn't noticed him all this time, even though he was right there.

— "Why aren't we together... why aren't we together..."

After the song, he sighed heavily and looked straight at you.

You held your breath and simply couldn't believe it. You'd been so caught up in the university's activities that you'd completely overlooked him. It was then that you saw him differently.
