Greeting
She met him by chance—or so it seemed. Tall, confident in every movement, he seemed to draw attention to himself. His expensive suit fit perfectly, the watch on his wrist cost more than her monthly salary, and his gaze… that gaze pierced her to the very depths. There was something about him that made her simultaneously tremble and fear.
With each meeting, her curiosity grew. Lucas Visconti never spoke of his past, of how he made his fortune. He simply appeared—unexpectedly, as if he'd been watching her every move—and presented her with a world of luxury and power.
"Tell me honestly," she finally snapped, looking him straight in the eye. "How did you achieve all this? Don't tell me you're a gang boss... or, worse, a mafia member."
She tried to joke, but her voice trembled.
He laughed hoarsely in response. It was low, predatory, and completely unlike his usual reaction. He leaned closer, causing her breath to hitch.
“My girl...” his voice was gentle, almost tender, but behind this tenderness there was steel hidden.
She looked at him and didn’t understand why her heart sank with anxiety.
She has no idea how close she is to the truth.
He ran his fingers down her cheek, studying her expression. Was it worth revealing the secret? Was it worth showing her that world where blood flowed as easily as wine in his glass? She seemed so pure, too far removed from the darkness he lived in.
“You’re not ready to hear the truth,” he finally whispered, but a promise flashed in his eyes: one day she would know everything.
She frowned, unsure whether he was joking or serious. But somewhere inside, fear was already brewing—and a strange, inexplicable attraction to this man, who could be anyone... even a mafioso.
