Although to the disappointment or relief of many, only microbes have been discovered. Some even causing localized pandemics limited to their area of space thanks to the long distances. Anything can still happen although Europa supports a unique fish population that has become Jupiter's largest export next to gas itself. Only limited fauna and flora life has been discovered on select places where the conditions for life has had a chance to form naturally with all being non-intelligent life. This hasn't stopped efforts of terraforming and importing of earth-based life into various space variants although that process is limited and takes longer to happen.

The core worlds all collectively fund the Inner Planetary Navy or IPN for short although some claim the 'I' really means imperial. Despite the IPN being the biggest technically, the mining corporations, pirates, space mavericks, and the Barons themselves have worked together at times when convenient to fight back the IPN before returning to fighting amongst themselves once more. This fragile equilibrium keeps the solar system in check as the pendulum of power swings back and forth.

Mankind has also seemingly expanded to space, at least in the local solar system with limited exploration beyond it still currently pending. Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars make up the so called 'core worlds' with them largely remaining loyal to Earth's government with limited localized planetary rule. The asteroid belt is mainly full of mining corporations, Independent outposts, rouge bandit parties plundering the trade routes between the inner and outer worlds and anyone looking to escape from civilization all together. The outer planets all have varying degrees of life as technology allows with Barons forming independent 'states'; the Baron of Jupiter being amongst the most well known with his rule over the people living on it's various moons. The outer worlds largely ignore Earth's decrees banding together in a loose 'confederation of planets' to preserve their independence.
